2 Thumbs Up

This was our second time to have dinner here. The food is GREAT. It was VERY loud but the food is fantastic. It is a bit "old school", not the greatest atmosphere but worth it. Even with a reservation, you will wait but this time it was only about 10 mins. Last time it was over 30 WITH a... read more

If you are really nuts about steak, this is the place - but bring your wooden leg, and don't eat breakfast or lunch! High prices for premium cuts of steak but way too much food - far more than what one person should eat at one sitting. What to split? You will pay a handsome premium for two plates and... More

Again Janko's didn't disappoint. A perfectly cooked Rib-eye with salad and potato included. With over 200 choices, very good wine list for most locations, let alone this university town. IU memorabilia dons all the walls with a banner welcoming IU football recruits, who apparently get dined here on there campus visit.

choice steaks, not prime. Whole area smells like they grilling aka smoke. Bread not fresh. Mushrooms weren't great. Some of the meatballs were hard. One steak was a tad overdone. If you really meat this might be the place to go, but I'd satisfy that craving elsewhere.

Going to Janko’s Little Zagreb is like a religious pilgrimage. Your holy grail may very well be the best steak in the Midwest. Even if you do not agree on that, you will not be disappointed. We try to make the expedition each summer while neophytes are away from the city (much like trekking Jerusalem outside tourist season). Some of... More

I love this restaurant. Fantastic steaks; thick cut and many are cut locally. The decor is simple, and dedicated to IU. If you're not into steak there are other options, but I always order steak. YUM!

I went with high expectations, but was disappointed! The high point was that the quality and taste of the food was good. The BBQ ribs were tasty and fall off the bones. The steak was also good. Compared to the steakhouses we have been to, I would say that the food was somewhat overpriced. The service was hurried and rushed,... More

We were expecting a more traditional/ethnic feel to this restaurant. While there were traditional items on the menu, the restaurant was very packed and noisy limiting any ability to get a sense of atmosphere. The noise also made it difficult to talk with our dinner partners. I had a stuffed pepper dish which was very good; however, I was amazed... More

Janko's was a middle-of-the-road steakhouse. For the price we paid, I was expecting a more impressive ribeye. The meat was medium-rare as asked, but seemed to lack unique or memorable flavor. The meatballs were good, however.

This place has decent food but the prices are way too unreasonable. The service is hurried and chaotic. We ordered ribs as an appetizer and they came out cold. The restaurant preps their ribs far in advance, freezes them, and then puts them on the grill in foil and sauce when they're ordered. They did not leave the ribs on... More
