Great food in Hoosier Country

While on a visit to Bloomington we got a recommendation to eat at Nick's. While small, there are a lot of tables here to pack everyone in. We sat in the back for lunch. This is an older place, looks like several additions to the original building. All of the Indiana Univ. memorabilia is... read more

Its the perfect place to grab a drink with some friends and watch an IU basketball game. The Hoosier Room is has a large circle bar and is covered in IU and Bloomington paraphernalia. Superb atmosphere. Also if you're feeling daring, play their signature game of Sink the Bizz.

Nick's has been around forever, and always draws a huge crown on game days. However, lunch is (to me) the main attraction. Staples are the strombolis, which are unique here; very worth trying. Also the breaded (pork) tenderloin sandwich. There are daily specials, including grilled port tenderloin sandwiches, gumbo, fish tacos, and all are excellent. Indeed, Nick's has some of... More

Have lived on the west coast for most of my life and eat fish a LOT but have never had as generous a portion of such a delicious salmon sandwich - ever! Enjoyed the outdoor seating in the summer and appreciated the bowl of water for our dogs served when our own people drinks arrived. Delicious pub grub!

We stopped in at Nick's English Hut for a late night gathering around midnight. The place was hopping, and it seems everyone was having a great time. Friendly bunch of people! Casual food, finger food, appetizers and a great sampling of brews as well as the hard stuff. Not far from campus, walking distance.

A friend once told us, you know it’s a good place if the waitress calls you “Hon.” Nick’s fame is well-earned. We knew my husband’s cheeseburger and bowl of chili would be great (fond memories from college days), but I was surprised to be served a salad worthy of the fanciest place in town. Lots of fresh, chilled spring greens... More

This place has been here forever and everyone loves it. Sure their pizza, beer, and Stromboli's are good, but the specials we had last night were very good. The fish tacos had fresh ingredients and used grilled fish - very tasty. The brisket Panini sounds odd at first, but man this was good. Watch out the place is very cramped... More

Stopped here for lunch with our IUB student daughter. Service was very good. The food - we had burgers - were excellent! You could have them any way you wanted them - they are made from local beef and you can tell the difference. We stopped in later in the day to enjoy a local craft beer at the bar,... More

Visited Nicks on a Friday Night with a party of 15 for a family get together. No reservation. We were told there was no tables available for that size party, but we could wait until enough people left to get our party seated. We waited approx. 1 hour to get seated, but they did get us at one table. The... More

No trip to Bloomington and IU would be complete without pizza and beer at Nick's This bar has a great college town atmosphere that attracts old and young alike! Nick's handmade pizza's are great and they are sure to have a beer special to help wash it down! My only regret is that it's a once a year trip for... More
