Average place to eat and the service was slow. After being seated we waited awhile for our waitress. It took a long time to get our food and when it did arrive my wife's order was not close to what she ordered. They made the correction in a timely manner and did not charge us for her sandwich, which was... More

Hour wait for Sunday breakfast at 10:15 am during a crowded week-end. The recommendation on the menu of ordering a piece of the homemade coffee cake while you wait was a good tip. The huge homemade pancakes were great but they do make it longer to get your food - so be warned. The spinach scrambled eggs had spinach and... More

My wife and I used to eat breakfast here religiously on Saturday morning. We stopped for a long time and I recently went back here. It was ok.....but not the quality I remembered. Their coffee seemed weaker and less flavorful, and the whole wheat bread they use for their toast, which used to be a hearty flavorful bread, now has... More

The Village Deli has a great breakfast selection, prompt and courteous service, and a neat college-town vibe (given its location to the IU campus). The most impressionable piece to our experience is that college students, families of all ages, and elderly people all seemed to fill the restaurant. Fortunately, we got there at 0830 and did not have to wait.... More

The Village Deli is a Kirkwood/ IU tradition for breakfast. It is always crowded because it is just that good. The wait is rarely more than 15 min and well worth it. Get an omelet or pancakes. Both are fabulous!

This is student-grade food, so adjust your expectations accordingly. Your server is sure to call the people at the table "you guys." Every salad I've ordered here has had droopy, browning lettuce. The coffee is bitter. The menu is pedestrian. I think the best thing about the place is the lemonade, but how hard is lemonade?

The Village Deli is always great for breakfast anytime of day. The food is tremendous, the staff fun and friendly and the service is quick. It is right on Kirkwood and can get crowded on Saturday and Sunday mornings, so get there early or be prepared to wait.

When chose this place because of the name- deli- thinking we could get some sandwiches quickly. When we entered, we asked the waiter how long the food would take. He said ten minutes. 30 minutes later, the food still hadn't arrived. Finally, after almost an hour wait, the sandwiches were ready. Meanwhile, the quality was mediocre at best. Would never... More

Best parts of this restaurant are that the food is inexpensive and the service is strong. The eggs and the bacon were fine. The breakfast burrito was big and lots of stuff in it. Decent family place.
