When chose this place because of the name- deli- thinking we could get some sandwiches quickly. When we entered, we asked the waiter how long the food would take. He said ten minutes. 30 minutes later, the food still hadn't arrived. Finally, after almost an hour wait, the sandwiches were ready. Meanwhile, the quality was mediocre at best. Would never... More

Best parts of this restaurant are that the food is inexpensive and the service is strong. The eggs and the bacon were fine. The breakfast burrito was big and lots of stuff in it. Decent family place.

Early Sunday morning - a group of 7. You'd like to all sit at the same table. The staff happily accommodated our request. If you are hungry, the pancake (singular - one is plenty). Others had the breakfast burrito, monte cristo sandwich and the eggs and homefries. All of it was outstanding.

A young college student recommended we try the pancakes at the Deli. It was a good decision for a good breakfast. As long as you are understanding that this is a college area, you will not be disappointed. Service was a little less than what we are used to but it was innocent mistakes with a very polite waiter. I... More

Waited what seemed like forever for our food, 45-60min. Finally told waitress if I saw her again without our food we were leaving ...amazingly she came right out with food. Nothing special. I would go somewhere else next time.

After waiting 10 minutes and being told our server would be right with us, it was another 5 minutes before he appeared. We never saw him again for a coffee refill, ask how the food was, or to collect the money which I had to take to one of the other waiters. This used to be an excellent place in... More

Our family ate at the Village Deli on Mother's Day morning and the place was packed! We were seated promptly but took over 40 minutes to receive our food. Our daughters had pancakes and french toast w/ fruit and my husband had a waffle. All were pleased with their choice. I had an omelette which wasn't as impressive: it was... More

Village Deli used to be my must have meal when I was in Bloomington but after the last visit, I'm not sure I'll ever go back. My family and I went in for lunch and out of the 5 of us, 3 didn't care for our food. The food just wasn't as good as it usually is and the chicken... More

My family stopped by the Village Deli for breakfast last week. There were plenty of tables available, and you seat yourself. The menu has many breakfast choices. Everyone in my party had something different and everyone was quite pleased with the quality & portions of food. The pancakes are huge! I have never seen one so large. I had the... More

I see why this is so popular with IU students ... Great food at a great price. I have had an omelette and pancakes here and both are outstanding. One warning ... a single pancake is huge.
