Though it is off the map as far as IU is concerned, Sweet Grass should be on your map of places to eat in Bloomington. You can avoid the traffic near campus and while it might be a challenge to find parking it is worth it. Sweet Grass is a cut above the rest. If your thinking about eating at... More

This restaurant has been a go to for our girls outings in Bloomington. The food has always been delicious but a bit messy. The wait staff has always been attentive and friendly but on multiple occasions the hostess has been cold and unwelcoming. We will continue to return to this little Bloomington treasure.

This place is one of the frequently forgotten options for good food in Bloomington. Fried green tomatoes and the po' boy sandwich are among my favorites! I know several people who frequently bring out of town guests here for a great meal. One of the really nice parts of Sweetgrass is its lounge, but they close too early and they... More

Gee. Where was this place when I lived in Bloomington? I had an opportunity to eat Sunday Breakfast here during I recent trip back to Bloomington. And it was great! Love the location on Bloomington's south side. Such a pleasant area to sit outside and dine. I had an egg benedict type dish (eggs on top of friend green tomatoes... More

Have eaten here several times, good food, good price. However, last time wife and I got sick, really sick. My wife's a microbiologist and knew what the problem was right off the bat. We are not going back!!

Bloomington has a disproportionately large number of incredible, independent restaurants to choose from. I'm not sure this is one of them. I've been three times for lunch and every time I've been underwhelmed. Each time I think, "Maybe it will be better today." Having just tried visit #3 over the weekend, I felt compelled to write a review. Every time... More

Had a wonderful lunch with my niece at the Sweet Grass. The atmosphere and menu were very nice... laid back, very light and welcoming. The service was excellent. Our waitress was personable and genuine. The food was very, very good. Highly recommend.

We went here graduation weekend. The place was completely crowded and that's well deserved. The menu has many options that are unique, the food was fabulous, and the prices were high but it felt worth it. Service was great, and when they messed up on my side dish there was no haggling. They just fixed the mistake and let me... More

Love Sweetgrass - we eat there regularly. My only complaint is they often have 2 creamy soups. They always have creamy tomato (great soup but not WW friendly) and I have an audible grrr when the 2nd soup is another creamy one. Just hoping for options!! But if you are on a splurge day.. friend green tomatoes, crab cakes... OMG... More

This restaurant is off the beaten path, but I was surprised at how good a crowd there was on a Saturday-- and I was told that it was actually quite light compared to usual. Good ambiance, friendly service, delicious and well-presented food-- I was impressed. Sweet Grass has a nice selection of beer and wine and an emphasis on Southern... More
