Agreed, freeways provide the quickest route from point A to B, however Interstate 94 from MN to Chicago or Milwaukee is boring at best. Try a back road, see what America has to offer! While housed in Mc Henry, IL for a wedding, we attended the grooms dinner in Woodstock, IL. This is vintage America, old time charm with country... More

There isn't anything outstanding about this restaurant. It's your average kind of eatery with decent food and decent service. Their vegetarian menu consists of a salad or two, maybe one pasta dish and a few appetizers. Apparently their soups are good, but I wouldn't know because out of the six soups they have daily, none of them are vegetarian. It... More

We went there for a late light lunch on a nice mid-week summer day. The Woodstock Public House is definitely a pub type place. It's located in the basement of one of the old buildings in the square of downtown Woodstock. This place has charm and character; its decor has lots of wood with traditional bar furniture. The staff is... More

We've visited a few time in the past six months, and each time our visit has been good but not quite great. Our food has run the gamut from just ok (steak sandwich, I'm looking at you) to exactly what we were looking for (really great spinach-artichoke dip). The beer selection is ok, but isn't terribly adventurous. We've left feeling... More

We were coming home from Lake Geneva and just wanted something to end a great day. We were so pleased with the food! I had the chicken tacos with spainish rice and my husband had the steak sandwich. Our waiter was great, the ambiance was relaxing. We will definitely go back.

The staff there was very upbeat, fun to talk to and even the neighboring tables are known to chat while having dinner. I liked the place so much, I went back there the next day to get the dish I was hinging on ordering the night before. Go there at least once in the square. You'll be glad you did.

Having graduated with my Bachelors in Hospitality Management and graduating from Culinary school I picky about where I eat and over analyze everything and nit pick. There's not much I can say bad about the place. I love the food esp. the papas Italiano, the seafood diablo and the loaded baked potato soup. The atmosphere is great and the staff... More

Woodstock Public House is in a great location, just off the historic Woodstock Square. It is located on Main Street, just before you turn the corner onto the Square. It is also steps away from the Woodstock movie theater, also located on Main Street. Public House has consistently great food, excellent burgers, great soup and an awesome bar. It's a... More

Met here with a large group with reservations. Service was very slow. Waited at least 20 minutes for water after drink orders were placed. The menu has a nice variety. There are always specials. They did run out of the fish specials unfortunately. I had the apricot salad with brie cheese. Small portion for a $13 salad in Woodstock. One... More
