Good food, excellent service!

The seafood diablo was LOADED with crab, shrimp & lobster. The burger's are great and food is served hot. Best part of our visit was the service we received. I believe his name is Alex and he was by far one of the best waiter's I've ever experienced. Well worth trying if you're looking for... read more

Was recommended as the best place in town for a nice meal. We were there for late lunch/early dinner around 4pm, restaurant was almost empty inside. Hostess seated us right next to the POS computer! Right next to the "pinch point" where servers tried to squeeze by to get to the other two rooms. We thought it would be ok... More

My family had Sunday Brunch on Mother's Day. Let me start by saying the new location is great. Much brighter and happier than the old location. (And there are no stairs, so it is great if you have mobility issues.) And a lot of character and history. The brunch was excellent. So much so that we already plan on returning... More

Conveniently located on the square in Woodstock this restaurant is in a historical building but retains none of the charm on the inside. We had lunch of Chicken Tortilla soup and Turkey Hero sandwich. The soup had very little chicken and wasn't spicy at all, basically a totato soup with three tortilla chips in it. The turkey was nothing special,... More

Visiting in Woodstock and looking for some place different for a meal. We were directed to Public House. Our group was seated in an old jail cell. Service was excellent and prompt. Our food was good and served in a timely fashion. We were a group of 8 and all were quite satisfied. I had the grilled chicken and it... More

The Public House is located in a special old building, the historic county courthouse - and retains historic character and charm. Unfortunately that was about the extent of the special experience. The food - chicken salad and clam chowder and even the pot stickers as an appetizer were bland. The server was personable and prompt and the staff is attentive.Unfortunately... More

We've been patrons of the Public House for years, so we decided to stop in for lunch at the new location. I'd been looking forward to a WPH (Woodstock Public House) Burger for weeks.....but sadly, was unimpressed. It was a late lunch, so the restaurant wasn't crowded; we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. But when the food arrived it... More

The new Sunday brunch is here along with an exceptional Bloody Mary Bar! The menu items for breakfast is wonderful and now the option for a great brunch is also available. Beautiful seating with sunny views of the square is such a wonderful way to start Sundays! The staff is unbelievably warm and friendly that only makes the food and... More

Several months ago The Public House moved to this larger space in Woodstock. The menu has stayed pretty much the same but with a few new items. The kitchen is at one end so the wait staff at the other end has a lot of walking to do. Overall the food is good and served in a timely manner.

I have loved lunch at this restaurant for many years (in the old location)...excellent burgers and the service was always impeccable, however, we just did dinner at the new location and I was disappointed. I had specifically made reservations (a month or more ahead of time) because we were celebrating a special night. Well...when we came in at 6:00pm the... More
