We visited the Public House during our annual pilgrimage to see the Ground Hog Day sites in Woodstock. The menu offers a great variety of dishes from sides to sandwiches. We all had the soup and sandwich combos. The Clam Chowder and half reuben were terrific. The waitress offered suggestions, reviewed the specials and was friendly without being overbearing. The... I am never disappointed when I come here. Fish tacos are delicious and the martinis are very good. Love the appetizer we ordered, Papas Italiano. We thought the service was outstanding. Waitress was very attentive but not overly so. This place is always consistent with food and service.

My friends and I came here for a late lunch on a weekday, so it was not that crowded but the service was SLOW! My friends and I ordered four mimosas, and it took 15 minutes for them to get to us, meanwhile our food came out about five minutes after the mimosas. The portions were smaller, but the food... The last time I went to Public House it was in their old location just off the square, and it was about two years ago. So when we saw it in the new location I wasn't sure if it was the same place. And... it is. :/ I'll spare you any flare and get right to it: potato soup a... More

We always enjoy our meals at the public house and found this dinner to be up to the same standard we expect! My husband loves the fish tacos and I enjoy the steak fajita salad!

On our day trip to Woodstock we chose to eat here because of other reviews. And we were not disappointed, the food was great and it was a nice atmosphere as well. We will visit again next time we go to Woodstock.

I have been here many times over the years for business lunches. The menu is generally good and the specials make it so that you don't have to get the same thing every time. I went there today (12/22/15), and ordered the soup and sandwich combo with the porcini mushroom soup and a turkey hero. The soups are usually outstanding... More

Not your average pub fare here. The menu is well thought out offering a nice variety. Well prepared with fresh ingredients. My boyfriend and I were very impressed. When in downtown Woodstock you must stop here. Comfortable seating for dining and cozy bar area. The owner showed us around and explained the history of the building. I wish them well.... More

We were recommended here by the receptionist at the Great Western hotel. Great tip! Food was delicious, hot, and served promptly. Very, very friendly and attentive staff. I would recommend the Chilli Gumbo, it was superb! For Groundhog Day fans, the bar was location for the "I like to drink to world peace" scene!
