Intimate upscale fine dinning. They feature a fixed 3-4 course menu. The portions are small so savor each course. Serves is spot on. Valet Parking, they park it on the street, you could easily do the same. Leisurely paced evening.

We have gone to this restaurant any number oftimes over the years for special occassions, special dinners, wine dinners, and to meet friends. Our meals have always been excellent and the service impeccable. From beef to lobster, each and every dish has been terrific. Deserts are always special and unique with adherence to tradition and a touch of creativity.

My husband and I went with another couple who had been there several times. We each ordered the four-course prix fix and tried to get a variety of items. We spent the rest of the evening discussing which was best. There was not a loser in the bunch. The lobster and crab over the carrot gel was unusual, yet approachable... More

It was a four course dinner with two wine pairing for $52. It started with seared tuna and Scottish salmon tartar, sea scallops for second course, beef tenderloin en croute for third and cherry gateau. Everything was done to perfection. The wine pairing was great. It was a very enjoyable and memorable meal. We requested a booth and it was... More

The four course fixed price meal we each had featured terrific French food served at a leisurely pace by a skilled staff. The dining areas are elegant but understated and relaxed. Be prepared to stay a few hours and enjoy.

We have been to Michael's twice now and both visits have been exceptionally good. The quality of the food is outstanding and the presentation is beautiful. The waitstaff is very attentive as well. The prices are quite high though so you do pay for what you get but it is an excellent choice for a special occasion dinner. They also... More

Chicago superstar chef Michael Lachowicz has shunned the spotlight, and set up a temple of fine French dining in Winnetka. Free parking! All the deliciousity at half the price of the downtown joints. Service is correctly paced, informed and helpful (ask for Umberto!). Noise level is conversation friendly. Try one of chef's specials: we've been there for the Truffle feast... More

I wasn’t going to post this review, but two things made me change my mind. First, Tripadvisor asked for a review and second, I have read some recent, less than glowing reviews, that supported my opinion. Perhaps management should take notice. We had been to the restaurant a number of times, usually to celebrate something. The food and service were... More

Chef Michael does an incredible job with his ever changing menu. The food is always uniquely French. Their wine list is extensive. We have only been here 3-4 times, but we highly recommend it for special occasions. Food, wine and service is spectacular.

I have eaten here about a dozen times and have never had anything that was not delicious. The staff is attentive without being intrusive. The tables are far enough apart that you don't overhear the conversations of others. I find their prices quite reasonable for what you get. This restaurant is simply my favorite!
