Somewhat so-so.

I had been here when it was still Niko's, and I was hoping they improved this place when the new ownership took over, but it's still lacking. The service was ok, the food was ok- except the fries. Those were just... bad. The bad: The carpets. They should be removed; they are dirty and stained... read more

We stopped in for a nice meal like we have had in previous visits when this restaurant was first remodeled but was very disappointed with the food. Our meals were not the quality that we have experienced in past visits as the food seemed to be dried out leftovers that were reheated and the lasagna recipe has changed and nowhere... More

Driving by, the place looks great, very inviting. Lots of cars in the parking lot. Expected a warmer ambiance. The lounge/bar was full due to the hockey game, but the restaurant was fairly empty for the dinner hour on a Saturday evening. The food was great, the service was good, but the floor and bench seats were filthy. It looked... More

After a few months we went back to The Lodge. I was happy to see the hot fresh bread back unlike our last visit. The salads are a bit better - not watered down as they used to be. However they still seem to put only one little tomato, one cucumber and maybe a onion slice or two on the... More

Took my son here for his birthday on a whim and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. I had a rib eye cooked perfectly and he had the rotisserie duck, both of which were exceptional. The only (minor) bummers were the limp green beans and the over-the-top salty soup which I was happy to overlook when I... More

After several meals here, we find the food and service to be reliably good. The menu is varied and the prices are reasonable, but a little on the high side. On Thursdays they feature roast pork which is consistently delicious. We've also tried the fish and chicken, always quite good. The portions are generous, the salads are fresh and the... More

We had heard nothing but praise for The Lodge... It was my wife's birthday so she picked, and off we go. Located a few miles west of St Charles il. Very nice location that would remind you of a Wisconsin supper club (no lake ). Lots of parking for car, pickup, horse (none present)or snowmachine (1 seen).Ambience country rustic and chose... More

After attending a movie my wife and I went to The Lodge (formerly Nikko's Lodge) for a bite to eat. We had not been there in some time and thought we'd give it another try. When we arrived we were told the wait would be thirty minutes, so we went into the bar and had drinks, which I must confess... More

This is a cozy, pretty restaurant that has possibility. But, honestly, it has some cleanliness issues with silverware and vaccuuming of carpets. Plus the food is very average. We probably will not return.

We are locals and have been here many times before. It's a cozy place that is close by with a pretty nice bar. Our last time we ate here was on Christmas Eve 2014. Our waiter was very nice, however, incompetent. After 10 minutes of waiting at the table with no complementary bread and starving children I finally asked the... More
