The food was very good. I had the wings and they are huge. I ordered 12 and only could finish 3. My husband had the bacon wrapped pork chops and real mashed potatoes. Husband was Very impressed that they made real mashed potatoes. We will be back when visiting the area.

We came into Utica when the brunch was sold out at Starved Rock Lodge. Food was really good far better than we expected for a local bar!

If you visit Starved Rock State Park and don't take a before or after side trip along "the strip" or Mill Street in nearby Utica with its restaurants, bistros, specialty shops and tourist attractions, you're missing part of the experience, like going to Mount Rushmore and passing up Deadwood and Custer and Spearfish. Part of that experience is eating and/or... More

Ate here last time we visited Utica. My husband had to have the wings again and I enjoyed my 8-layer salad again too! It is popular and busy, even at 3pm, but the service and food was as good as we remembered. We will come back again!

We stopped in to Skoogs with our family of five after a day of hiking at Starved Rock State Park. Most of us ordered their fried chicken, which comes out piled impossibly high on the plate and proved to be WAY too much food for any one of us to eat. Despite the massive quantity, this was also good quality... More

I was kind of disappointed after reading the reviews. I was there in a fairly big group & we all thought the good was ok, not great. The biggest hit were the Wings. Everything else was average & not really worth the long wait. It was a nice bar to sit in & watch sports on the TVs.

Nothing fancy, but a better than average pub. Sandwiches were delicious and definitely hand crafted. Good value.

I was going to leave because the atmosphere is bland. Ordered a hamburger and was pleasantly surprised at the quantity and yumminess of it.

When I moved to the Midwest, I heard people rave about restaurants based on potions and price. Those points move Skoogs to the top,of the line. We were there on an extremely busy weekend and were impressed with the prices and quality of food. The chicken is outstanding and the beer was great! Go! A slice!
