Awesome Lunch/Awesome Service

We visited for lunch and our waitress was Jaci. She was kind and absolutely spot on with recommendations for food and patient with our children. The food was delicious. We had the combo appetizer and the fried pickles. Our sandwiches were very tasty. Such a great place!

We stayed at Starved Rock Lodge and had a wonderful meal at Skoogs. The place was full of friendly people including the staff and the food was great. We loved the nachos, potato and sausage soup, ribs and salads. Everything was good and we were stuffed when we left. I highly recommend it and will be back the next time... More

This is a classic tavern eatery. The pork tenderloin is about 3 times the size of the bun and I loved it! If you are there on a cold day, try their chilli.

We stopped in on a friday night for dinner with the family. We had been here before with great results so we came back. We were in early, so seating was not an issue, but it filled up while we are there. This place is suitable for family dining and is not just a bar. I was very happy to... More

The people were so welcoming and the service was great, but the food was not so great. My son ordered the Jazzy Chicken and it was not good, no flavor and the meat was fatty and not trimmed well. My other son ordered the taco salad, which was fine. I had the chili, it was just very plain. I had... More

We were in Utica and decided to stop at Skoogs for lunch. There was a decent amount of seating and the waitress was quick to take our order and make sure we we had everything we needed. We ordered cups of chili to start and were impressed with not only the size of the cup (more like a bowl), but... More

The food was very good. I had the wings and they are huge. I ordered 12 and only could finish 3. My husband had the bacon wrapped pork chops and real mashed potatoes. Husband was Very impressed that they made real mashed potatoes. We will be back when visiting the area.

We came into Utica when the brunch was sold out at Starved Rock Lodge. Food was really good far better than we expected for a local bar!

If you visit Starved Rock State Park and don't take a before or after side trip along "the strip" or Mill Street in nearby Utica with its restaurants, bistros, specialty shops and tourist attractions, you're missing part of the experience, like going to Mount Rushmore and passing up Deadwood and Custer and Spearfish. Part of that experience is eating and/or... More
