Best Seafood on the Southside

Had dinner at the Tin Fish, located @ 182nd South Harlem in Tinley Park, again. This place is our favorite seafood restaurant. The food is always fresh and seasonal, from oysters to soft-shell crab to sea bass. I had the black grouper, and I substituted the delicious mashed potatoes for sautéed... read more

We have been going to Tin Fish for over 10 years, it is truly our go to place. We enjoy sitting in the bar and mingling with other locals as well as first timers. It's a great place for a night out with friends or a special occasion. It's the best place to go, close to home where you can... More

Tin Fish provides a nice ambiance, excellent service, and elegantly prepared seafood. My husband enjoyed the halibut, while I had the salmon, and they were lovely but undercooked for our tastes. I think fish is best when it is cooked just to the point of moist flakiness, but not raw. If you are like us, we suggest you request your... More

We met for late lunch for daughters birthday. She had the blackened scallops and shrimp special and said it was the best meal she had ever eaten. Another in our party really enjoyed the sword fish dish. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the sea venue. I'll upload a couple pics.

For the fish lovers, from the scallops to the swordfish or tuna, the whole table of international business travelers was delighted by the quality of the dish and the service. Certainly worth the extra miles when you are south of Chicago!

We were on the road, I-80 west, just west of Chicago, and very hungry, about 2:30 pm. We found The Tin Fish in Tinley Park as a place to try. Couldn't have been more delighted. Rarely does a traveler find such a lovely restaurant open until 3:30 pm for lunch. We both had fish entrees in addition to a small... More

Had not been to this place for several years and found it was still the same-- mediocre. There is nothing new or interesting on this menu. Even the staples like calamari were a disappointment, soggy coating when it should have been crisp. I had the blackened catfish and honestly I could not tell the fish from the potatoes. All were... Have been enjoying excellent preparations of fresh seafood at this gem of South-West Suburban Chicago for several years.....Have never been disappointed! Subtle(and sometimes not so subtle) Oriental influences,Southern touches on occasions. Appropriately sized portions, very good service(excellent if you can get Tristan to serve you). I regularly order from the specials;they are usually outstanding and the freshest.

My favorite aspect is your ability to choose toppings and sides. They make recommendations, but you are the maker of your own meal. Fish is amazing but not the only offerings. Tin ceiling can make conversation challenging if crowded.

This restaurant is one of my favorite places. The service, quality and atmosphere are always top notch. I have dined there more than 50 times and have never had a bad meal
