Hubby and I went for our anniversary, but we'll definitely be back with the kids. Great food and a nice family friendly atmosphere. The Bistec Oaxaca was so good I'll have a hard time ordering anything else.

To I D SYCAMORE. REALLY? If you grew up in the Chicago area and are familiar with "authentic" mexican restaurants, then you would also know that they usually only serve Menudo and Pazole on Sundays. I've a there whole red snapper and it was AUTHENTIC! and the best I've ever had.

My wife and I love Mexican food and love Mexico but we often find ourselves visiting Taxco after a trip to Mexico because we so enjoy their food. Jesus Romero (owner) has been a wonderful addition to our little community ever since he arrived so many years ago. The food is great. He has created a nice atmosphere with local... More

So, I grew up North Side of Chicago and I have to say that I’ve been blessed with good food. Went to Taxco in Sycamore tonight and asked the waitress if I can have a bowl of Pizzole soup. No can do. Then I asked if I can have some Menudo soup. No can do. Chicken Vegetable soup was their... More

I have been going to Taxco for many years. Why? Each time everything is always fresh and good. What more do you want from a restaurant? Good service and good food. That is what Taxco is always about and these qualities are consistent. I wish I liked Tequila. They have over 350 different kinds of tequila. Those who like tequila,... More

I gravitate toward the Mexican restaurants that have the highest number of Hispanic customers and Taxco is not one of them. However, I have been coming to this place since we moved to Sycamore 15 years ago and I've never been disappointed. There are too many dishes that I love to list in this review however I would highlight the... More

If you want heaps of boring rice and beans, everything smothered in cheese, salsa with no life ... in other words, a typical "Americanized Mexican" restaurant do not come to Taxco. Do bring yourself and friends to Taxco for some of the freshest ingredients in town, freshly made tortillas, and unique menu choices that will make you come back over... More
