Kosher totally

kosher everything here. Food is good. As a gentile was made to feel a bit uncomfortable. The prices were a bit high for this style of food if your not accustom.

Not often do you get wowed by the food in a restaurant. Definitely unbelievable food! Sushi menu especially recommended.

The food was amazing. Best sushi in Chi town, great soup, and amazing steak . You must order the strawberry short cake for dessert. You won't regret it.

Great Restaurant With Good Food. As some other reviews have stated, that the vibe can be iffy at times. I have been here a few ties in the last year and sometimes we just felt a "cold " atmosphere (not sure why) but even then the food was great and so was the service. Portions were nice sizes and a... Shallots is a tried and true safe choice. The ambiance works, the menu while not crazy exotic will accomodate all comers. The appetizers are great, the steaks are steaks. The lamb is crazy good. The fish is always good. The sushi menu is extensive, from super grade sashimi, to classic rolls, to foo foo rolls with enough sauce on them... More

Very consistent restaurant in that the food is always A+++ 100% delicious, never disappointed!! That being said, the vibe is always a little off. It is not an overly friendly atmosphere, they are not always so welcoming. There is never anything negative, just not over the top positive like some other spots. Bar area questionable at best, was not even... More

I have travelled the world and eaten in many eateries around the world. This is "THE" top of the line Kosher restaurant. The ambiance is classy but not stuffy and the waiters are refined but not stiff. The sushi is amazing but the steak made it a meal to remember. Even the baked sweet potato was exceptional . With a... Whenever I am in Chicago, I visit Shallots. The food is good. Sushi menu is even better. Ambience is great. The service is friendly and professional. Desserts weren't my favorite....but they had some really tasty appetizers and excellent sushi. It's pricey.

I only got the sushi here, but it is definitely worth it. For anyone keeping kosher, this is probably the best food there is to get near Chicago, probably in all of Illinois. Their sushi spanned classic to interesting and inventive, and their use of sweet potatoes for their crunch and cilantro in the Black Sea and hola rolls (and... More

Excellent food, although I was too tired from my early morning flight and fun filled day to properly enjoy it. tons of space so it doesnt feel like your eating at some communal seder table. ambience was very nice. there are 2 options. sit down area is pricier, but there is a bar area with a cheaper menu.
