We had a family dinner in June 2014. The restaurant is positioned as a high end kosher steak and sushi restaurant. Saying that, my expectations were set. The seating hostess and her manager were not hospitable. As we did not make a reservation we were given the feeling of second rate customers - doing us a favor that they agreed... More

When I live in Chicago I came here many times. The food, while pricey is very good. Quality can be a drop inconsistent, especially on busy nights. Your better off coming on a weeknight when things are less busy.

We went to Shallots during Tabernacles and hoped to eat a wonderful mean in a sukkah. We found what we were looking for! The prices are really steep though. Suggest they come down a bit.

I was looking for a Kosher meal between Downtown Chicago and O'hare Airport. A quick google search put Skokie, IL a mere 10 minute detour about half way between the two points. Shallots has moved a couple of times over the years but this location is a winner and the food was great. Ambiance was perfect, service was friendly and... More

Alright, so it's a little too late, but here's my story. Alright, so me and my buddies went to shallots after a softball game. We were tired, so we decided to go to this place. At first, we were like "wow, this place looks fantastic". I thought it looked nice with an above average atmosphere. So at first, we had... More

The food was excellent my 3rd visit. I was, however, very nonplussed by Nick, the manager, who came over to our table no less than 4 times during our meal. I brought a friend with me so we could have a good meal and good conversation. Nick kept interrupting our meal wanting to talk with us and, at one point,... More

As improbable as it sounds Shallots does it all superbly well. The prices are not cheap, but it is well worth the pain. The sushi is the best I have had outside of area with major Japanese populations. The steaks, regardless of which one, are all delicious. In my visits there, all with visiting businessmen, we've shared every dish with... More

This is an old Macaroni Grill space that is converted in to a Kosher restaurant, and while the menu is incredibly huge and I didn't eat anything other than Sushi, the food was amazing!! Some of the best Sushi in all of the Chicagoland area. Worth a try for anyone. I recommend the Sushi tasting menu. It is a bit... More

Stopped at Shallots because I was staying in Skokie for a business meeting the next day .I was with some one and we asked if we could sit in a different place than being by the front , they said that all the tables were reserved.,This was a Tuesday night I watch the other tables and they were still some...
