Like many other people we read the great reviews of Libertad, saw it on check please, and off we went last week. The good: pleasant neighborhood, easy parking, cozy room that got louder over time, very good service all around. But The wonderful smells of cooking when we entered eventually became an overpowering fusion fog. Not so good: reasonable attempts... More

I grew up in Skokie and whenever I visit my parents, we tend to head out to Chicago or Evanston for a nice restaurant. However, Libertad was a wonderful surprise. We made reservations on a Tuesday night which was a good idea since they were crowded. I really like the concept of shared dishes especially amongst a large party so... More

My friends suggested we go to this place since they've been here before and loved it. I was surprised it was located in downtown Skokie since I grew up here before moving out to Chicago. I had a 'Margarita Natural' as I waited at the bar. Later I also tried the 'Cucumber Caipirinha' and a glass of the 'Sangria Blanco.'... More

We went with some friends who live in the Chicago area. When they suggested a restaurant in Skokie, as opposed to somewhere in downtown Chicago, we were intrigued. The menu, though small, looked delicious, and the reviews were good. The food did not disappoint. The atmosphere is very casual, however, especially for the prices they charge. We were a party... Menu's description are very well written therefore exciting and interesting, so we went and gave it a try. Carne Asada is a winning ticket with the "yuca frita", unique concept shredding the Yuca and the chimichurri sauce was spectacular. No guacamole was a surprise, I would have at least a couple on the menu, with a gourmet twist, Chicken Flautas... More

Went to this little restaurant on a Saturday night. Had the good fortune of sitting out on the patio on a perfect evening. Great food, great service! Menu is varied dishes with a Latin twist. Carne asada was perfect...delicious! We shared many plates. Tuna, scallops, pulpo, pollo...a served in smaller portions. There are vegetarian options. Plates range from 11-19. Portions... More

This is another restaurant following the on going trend of "nuevo latino" and "sharing" plates. The restaurant is located in the store front space in the center of Skokie with nondescript patio in the back. Parking is available on the street. Being small space the tables are very close together, lack privacy and combined with ongoing music can be very... More

I have eaten at this small restaurant (almost tiny most of the year, when the lovely outdoor patio is not available!) about five times now, and each time the meal is absolutely wonderful. The innovative Mexican inspired dishes are creative and immensely tasty. It is essentially a small plates restaurant, with reasonably priced, shareable entrees that are each a delight.... More

Totally surprised by this little gem. Delicious nuevo latino food served tapas style. Highly recommend the tempura chile relleno and the carne asada. Gotta try those cocktails too. Only thing I didn't love were the chicken flautas, which lacked flavor. You can tell these guys put a lot of passion and hard work into their food and this little restaurant.... More

Friendly atmosphere, great staff, amazing Chef and owner. This is our go-to spot. LOVE this place. Upscale small plate to share with those you love. Great cocktails and beer to pair with the meal. Chef's "Pulpo" is my favorite thing on the planet. Dinner and Brunch are a must.
