This restaurant has been closed for awhile. Too bad as it had a sophisticated atmosphere and food was unique without being pretentious.

This fun little gastropub is right in downtown St. Charles. We went with a party of 6 for dinner and had good service and food. Inside the atmosphere has a fun style and is very inviting. They have a large selection of beers (obviously). We tried the Nachos (a must try!) and the veggie flat bread for our appetizers. We... More

I was really excited to try Wild Monk and after being there several times, I feel I can give it a fair review. My friends and I have tried various signature cocktails here, and were never able to finish any of them. One ingredient was always either too overpowering, or not what you expected it to taste like from the... More

I love the atmosphere of this place and the awesome moniker on the wall in lights...but the love ends there. We were a party of 8 on a Friday night for dinner. The menu looked inspired so we were excited to try the "Gastro-Pub" fare. Unfortunately, 2 out of 8 of us liked our food and the rest of us... More

I don't like to write bad reviews because I like to see a business succeed. However, when I feel ripped off, I take it personally. They serve 8 doller beers in small glasses. I had an appetizer and entree that were the same thing in a different package (chicken lollipop and chicken slider). Both were deep fried meatballs one with... More

Electric restaurant with premium beers and upscale foods. Pricey, but mostly worth it. Do not go there thinking this is a $2.00 PBR bar, but serving upscale beers in smaller glasses.

Our first visit to the Wild Monk Bar left us a bit unsure about going back. Although the food was tasty, the portions were very small. Not what we expected when hungry and ready for a meal. We ended up ordering what we thought were medium sized entrees and they were small appetizer size. We then ordered two more items... More

This bar serves an odd brussel sprounts dish which creates a cooked dog food-like odor throughout the entire establishment...likely due to inadequate ventiliation in the kitchen. We've been here numerous times and although the food is decent and they have a great beer list, the odor is likely going to keep us from going back any more...it permeates your clothing,... More
