You have to experience outside dinning on a warm weather visit. Enjoyed our meal and then also enjoyed a stroll through the book store. Desserts are all homemade yum yum,

The Town House Cafe was one of the best breakfast places I have ever been too!! I googled places to eat when we were staying overnight in St. Charles and we decided to give it a try. It is so very clean, quaint and the service and staff were wonderful!! The applewood bacon was amazing. We also had kids ages... More

My husband and I have been here twice and plan to return often. Wonderful menu, variety of homemade soups, delicious hot and cold sandwiches and fantastic salads. Charming and cozy atmosphere and incredible homemade deserts. Love this warm little place. The fact that it is attached to a small independent bookstore just adds to the charm!

This a a great place for a girls visit luncheon. The service was excellent, the food was great and the dessert was yummy.A nice variety of soups, salads (whole or half-portion), sandwiches, quiche and desserts. The house salad (half-portion) was a bed of very nice salad greens topped with goat cheese, bacon, cranberries & toasted pecans. It was more than I... More

Enjoyed my meal and eating on the deck out back. The service from our server was great, however owner seemed very eager to move people in and out quickly. He came by and snatched the check before we even had settled the bill amongst ourselves. Had to call him back a couple times before he acknowledged us so we could... More

When I'm home it's a tradition to go to Town house books and cafe. It's in old town St. Charles. They have a regular menu cold & hot sandwiches and salads. There is a chalkboard with daily specials soups, quiche and deserts. The board changes daily. There is a small coffee & tea bar. The place only has maybe 10... More

Town House Cafe is popular, so you may have a while to wait for a table (or you can call ahead for carry out), but it's attached to Town House Books, which is a great place to spend time while you're waiting! I would definitely recommend it if you're visiting STC or have a day off/long lunch break. The vegetarian... More

What could be better than going to an independent bookshop but going to one that also serves lunch? I love meeting friends here for lunch. In the summer it is especially nice to sit outside under the shade trees on the patio. I love all their quiches of the day as well as their sandwiches. The flourless chocolate cake with... More
