If you're in the St. Charles area, a stop at Townhouse is a must - the attached independent bookstore is a delight. The Signature Salad and Apricot Chicken Salad are wonderful. Wine is also served, and they have a great brunch on Sundays. There is usually a 10-20 minute wait to get in, and outside dining is available during the... More

The menu is based on literature. The grilled cheese is amazing. The soups are to die for. Don't bother calling asking about the soup options that day. They are all delicious!!

A friend had a turkey club sandwich piled high with fresh veggies. I had ham & cheese which is oddly served open faced but tasted good. A much better option than most places as the food is fresh. Yes, it takes longer than a drive through but if you want something tasty, it's a much better option.

Enjoy a delicious lunch and browse in the interesting bookstore located a charming old house that's tucked away in historic downtown St Charles. Town House Books and Cafe was recommended by a friend and it lived up to my expectations. The sandwiches are savory and the breads taste homemade. We tried the Tuna Avocado Melt and Lea's Grilled Cheese. Arrive... More

You have to experience outside dinning on a warm weather visit. Enjoyed our meal and then also enjoyed a stroll through the book store. Desserts are all homemade yum yum,

The Town House Cafe was one of the best breakfast places I have ever been too!! I googled places to eat when we were staying overnight in St. Charles and we decided to give it a try. It is so very clean, quaint and the service and staff were wonderful!! The applewood bacon was amazing. We also had kids ages... More

My husband and I have been here twice and plan to return often. Wonderful menu, variety of homemade soups, delicious hot and cold sandwiches and fantastic salads. Charming and cozy atmosphere and incredible homemade deserts. Love this warm little place. The fact that it is attached to a small independent bookstore just adds to the charm!

This a a great place for a girls visit luncheon. The service was excellent, the food was great and the dessert was yummy.A nice variety of soups, salads (whole or half-portion), sandwiches, quiche and desserts. The house salad (half-portion) was a bed of very nice salad greens topped with goat cheese, bacon, cranberries & toasted pecans. It was more than I... More
