I had a business dinner at Café Zalute. I met my out of town guests at the restaurant. We order several appetizers to start which came out just fine - toasted ravioli and fried calamari. The we order entrée and soup, the problem was the entrees came out first then the soup. This created some pacing issues for the meal.... More

Because of the reviews we tried this mall restaurant. I has a decent decor, but that was about it. I had the veal limone dish and the veal was very overcooked. It was much like the way my mother used to cook veal. The polenta was pretty good. My husband had the pork chop which was also very much overcooked.... More

Went for a work event. Restaurant was empty with the exception of our group. Service was slow. Food was either over cooked or over salted. Owner gave off the vibe of a used car salesman. Save your money. There are literally 50 other nearby Italian restaurants that get it right. Oh yeah, even though gratuity was already added to the... More

We liked everything we ordered, and among 8 of us, we ordered a lot. Basically an Italian menu, but steaks and chops too. Great waiters. I didn't see the tab- I don't think it was an inexpensive place.

I had a customer in town staying near O'Hare. this was a fun place which was not as snooty or priced as high as some of the convention places. I had the chicken and artichoke which was very good. the desserts are very large. We shared a Tiramisu and Bread Pudding for four people, and took pleny home. the only... More

Able to accomodate large party in semi private room. Only draw back is it was loud, hard to hold conversations. Nice bar area. Have to walk downstairs for restroom. Amazing food. Will be back!

You won't leave hungry when you come to Cafe Zalute. We have wanted to try the restaurant for a while and were glad we finally did. It is located on the first floor of an office building across the street from the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines. The space is small, with an attractive bar area that was almost full... More

Homemade pasta was good. Garlic rolls were great after I had to ask three times for them. Authentic Italian food is hard to come by these days but this place does it right. Just like Grandma used to make. Owner even bought our party a drink!

I stayed down the street and wanted a warm hearty place to eat. Cafe Zalute did not disappoint. I had too much Great bread, mussels, and wonderful pasta. Not to mention some nice wine. I return there every tie in Chicago
