I have been to Abreo a couple of times, only once of which I had their food. Overall, the food is excellent. This place is definitely a little pricey, but the dishes are certainly unique and taste fantastic. I ordered broccoli salad (which was phenomenal) but it most definitely was not worth the amount of money I spent on it.... More

Went for the first time recently. When we asked for a table we could only be seated in the room next to the main room. We inquired what the difference was and the server said it is displaying local art as part of a local festival. But she assured us the dining experience "was the same". When we went to... More

We chose to try something new for Fall Art Scene (a bi-annual art walk involving close to 40 locations across the city) and offer seating for those enjoying the event but also wanted to stay and eat. Also new to us was the fact that we were featuring art from children which created yet another unforeseen dynamic. This was miss-communicated... More

I took out of town friends here for dinner 1 night. They were definitely impressed with the food and atmosphere. We loved the variety, the night we were there had several dishes incorporating morel mushrooms. This was a pleasant surprise since morels are so rare & expensive. One of my friends was so impressed with her meal that she was... More

Friends suggested we try Abreo Restaurant when we visit Rockford. We stopped in for dinner without a reservation. The place was full but the hostess encouraged us to stay at eat at the bar. The meal was outstanding, the service was top notch and dining at the bar proved to be a lot of fun. We met some very nice... More

The restaurantvis tastefully done, good staff but the food was just ok. Had several dishes, just not worth paying $45 per person for food and still be hungry. Just don't get why they are rated so high. Seems like the place is for thenyounger an niave.

I should probably compose a proper "owner" style response to your review, but I'll just be honest instead. As a chef first and an owner, it really bums me out that you thought my food was just OK, OK food sucks and your right for calling us out on it. At OK I would agree it's not worth $45, but... More

The food and atmosphere are lovely. For me one visit was enough. It is far too expensive on my teacher's salary and I would not spend the $ on my kids. It was awesome to splurge once! Definitely a night to remember.

Everything was great. The lamb sausage has a kick to it, and the seasoning on the tenderloin was incredible. The flavor of the tenderloin explodes in the mouth, probably due to its freshness. The cheese plate and side of olives were also very nice. The wine was outstanding, and the service was also very good. Great ambiance.

My husband and I went to Abreo for the first time on our 20th anniversary dinner. We were impressed! We split 4 small plate dinner items and 2 desserts. We enjoyed everything. Very unique and fresh combinations of flavors. Even better because the food is locally sourced. The staff was very attentive. Overall just a wonderful experience and a great... More

Menu is always changing depending on the season, since Abreo believes in using only the freshest local ingredients. Venue is unique and friendly. Sit in the bar area for more casual fine dining and in the main dining for a more romantic feel. Or, if the weather permits, sit on the area's coolest patio!!! Service is fantastic! My friends and... We were pleasantly surprised that everything we tried was so good, I really wanted to lick the plate after each course. We are native Rockfordians but lived in the San Francisco Bay Area & this restaurant surpasses any place we went to out there because in addition to good, locally sourced food, the staff was really friendly & attentive.
