Friends suggested we try Abreo Restaurant when we visit Rockford. We stopped in for dinner without a reservation. The place was full but the hostess encouraged us to stay at eat at the bar. The meal was outstanding, the service was top notch and dining at the bar proved to be a lot of fun. We met some very nice... More

The restaurantvis tastefully done, good staff but the food was just ok. Had several dishes, just not worth paying $45 per person for food and still be hungry. Just don't get why they are rated so high. Seems like the place is for thenyounger an niave.

I should probably compose a proper "owner" style response to your review, but I'll just be honest instead. As a chef first and an owner, it really bums me out that you thought my food was just OK, OK food sucks and your right for calling us out on it. At OK I would agree it's not worth $45, but... More

The food and atmosphere are lovely. For me one visit was enough. It is far too expensive on my teacher's salary and I would not spend the $ on my kids. It was awesome to splurge once! Definitely a night to remember.

Everything was great. The lamb sausage has a kick to it, and the seasoning on the tenderloin was incredible. The flavor of the tenderloin explodes in the mouth, probably due to its freshness. The cheese plate and side of olives were also very nice. The wine was outstanding, and the service was also very good. Great ambiance.

My husband and I went to Abreo for the first time on our 20th anniversary dinner. We were impressed! We split 4 small plate dinner items and 2 desserts. We enjoyed everything. Very unique and fresh combinations of flavors. Even better because the food is locally sourced. The staff was very attentive. Overall just a wonderful experience and a great... More

Menu is always changing depending on the season, since Abreo believes in using only the freshest local ingredients. Venue is unique and friendly. Sit in the bar area for more casual fine dining and in the main dining for a more romantic feel. Or, if the weather permits, sit on the area's coolest patio!!! Service is fantastic! My friends and... We were pleasantly surprised that everything we tried was so good, I really wanted to lick the plate after each course. We are native Rockfordians but lived in the San Francisco Bay Area & this restaurant surpasses any place we went to out there because in addition to good, locally sourced food, the staff was really friendly & attentive.

Staff is courteous, friendly and attentive. Beef Tenderloin, apple salad and raspberry crepes with caramel drizzled chocolate cake were perfect. Rockford has a really special gem here.

The food was tasty - we enjoyed it. However it wasn't the best meal I've ever had. We got the Roasted Eggplant plate, Butternut Pasta plate, and the French fries. All were good, no complaints except we did NOT like the white yogurt sauce that was dolloped on top of the eggplant. All were such small portions that you can... More

While mixed with positive and negative experiences during your visit, I do appreciate the feedback. My apologies for the misleading info on our website about the specials and 3 star experience. I have corrected our website thanks to your input. I am confident that when you return (hopefully sooner then later) you will have an experience that matches your (and... More

This was the best meal I've had outside of the city since moving to the suburbs of Chicago. The Goat Cheese Crostini, olives, and Yellow Fin tuna were all of superior quality. The butternut squash pasta was delicious, and my dining companions raved about both of the duck dishes on the menu. My favorite was the spicy peanut noodles...the spice... More
