We had four adults and a child in out party. We ordered "small plates" for appetizers. Why some places stopped calling things appetizers is beyond me, but not real important here. We enjoyed our small plates everything was delicious but not very hot, our black bean queso dip had cooled making it very hard to get out of the bowl.... More

We were passing through going to Wis. and stayed in Rockford. After eight hours driving we needed and good place to eat with good service and we got both. I had the meat loaf with mashed potatoes and my wife got a steak. Both were outstanding. the young lady that waited on us was very pleasant and helped with our... More

We were traveling through Rockford, IL and I checked the reviews before we went to this restaurant. We were not mislead. It was a quiet night and we had a cozy table near the fireplace. We wanted a light meal but were tempted by the hot wings (delicious) and I had the pesto pizza and my husband had the angus... More

We were pleased to find this restaurant so near to our hotel. We sat right near the fire and had an excellent dinner. The wine and beer selections are extensive and the menu has a wide variety. The salmon matched the best I've ever had; it was cooked just as I requested and melted in my mouth. If I lived... More

Right off we were impressed with the reception area - really cosy hunting lodge style. We were seated immediately and drinks orders wee quick and efficient. The brunch buffet selection was excellent - well cooked and presented. My only criticism was that as someone allergic to shellfish, putting fried chicken and shellfish in the same hot dish put me off,... More

The shrimp appetizer was good and the chicken marsala was excellent. The drunken sirloin was not very good at all. The sauce was horrible and half of the meat you couldn't even chew. if it wasn't for the chicken and shrimp this would have been a poor. Waitress was very nice.

We had stopped here on our last trip through and I had the ahi tuna salad. It is only $12 and quite good. I stopped again thinking I would get it again but opted for the salmon. Glad I did as it was the best I've had. Service was excellent from seating to paying.

We like the atmosphere. Had a good small plate to start and a glass of wine. Nice sweet biscuits. Salads were nice and crispy. Usually, restaurants have a special grill-cut pork chop that is super thick or even serve two chops. This one was an average bone-in chop, though the shrooms and tomatoes on top were good. Asparagus was overcooked... More

I was staying at a nearby hotel and this restaurant came recommended by hotel staff along with a 15% off coupon. I walked in and was wowed by the rustic ambiance and multiple fire places. I was given a very nice table by the fire place. I ordered wine and french onion soup for starters. The wine was nice, but... More

Suzanne - Thank you for your patience while we looked into this situation. I had the management of Thunder Bay restaurant send me a copy of your receipt and in looking at the receipt the steak was added to your ticket originally so we could track what was being prepared but if you look at the bottom of the receipt... I liked the service, cleanliness, and decor. My son had a bacon cheeseburger that looked fantastic. I had the Friday Night Fish Fry. It was good but I wouldn't order it again. The deep fried fish was cut in cubes, so there was more breading than I expected. Salad and sides were good. Desserts looked good.
