We had a WONDERFUL time today at Stone Eagle! The food was DELICIOUS and the wait staff was MAGNIFICENT! My husband and I went there after church and were promptly greeted. We ordered the Large Shovel of Shrimp each because you get so much that you take over half of it home (and it’s only a $1 more than the... More

Tried Stone Eagle Tavern based on hotel recommendation. Very disappointing. The waiter looked like a drill sergeant and addressed the guests as if they were members of his platoon. No personality, very abrasive. The wine list is not very extensive and mostly "grocery store" varieties. The salad is mainly tossed iceburg lettuce for which you pay a premium price. We... More

I have relatives in the Rockford area and usually when I visit we will got to the Stone Eagle Tavern for at least one meal. I like the unique decor and often while waiting for our meal I will wander over and check something out. This time it was the 1947 Indian Chief motorcycle hanging on the wall. I also... More

The waitress was very slow and kept forgetting things. She "forgot" what salad dressings we all ordered so she brought the salads and then said, "I threw out the ticket that said what you wanted so what do you want?" She came back about 5 minutes later with our ranch and house dressings (very difficult). She never gave us re-fills... More

I had lunch here with a client and I have to say it was very good. The menu has a lot of great choices and it was not easy to decide. I finally decided on the salmon that was baked in the wood oven. It was very moist and had great flavor. I cant wait to go back and try... More

A great menu selection, unique atmosphere ($ bills on ceiling, motorcycles hanging from wall) and reasonable prices. Food was excellent when it was finally delivered... We selected the restaurant based on a full parking lot on Thursday compared to the multitude of restaurants on the same road. Will definitely eat here again when visiting Rockford in hopes of faster service.

Our waitress was very good but had to wait for our main entree. I think it was the cook not the waitress because she was very attentive. The salad was very small and didn't seem very fresh. The topping on our philly cheese steak was good but the meat tasted leftover. Maybe next time I would try the wood fired... More

We enjoyed the Stone Eagle Tavern's unique decor and historic artifacts, like an Eagle chair that was part of a bank robbed by J. Dillinger and pictures of famous people who have dined at the Stone Eagle. Food was very good, tenderloin steak done exactly as ordered, my Philly steak sandwich was good, I do prefer a little more cheese... More

We stopped here for the first time. Our waitress was good. She was polite and kept our glasses refilled. Some of the food was hit and miss. Although I'm sure there french fries came out fresh, to me they tasted like they were cooked and sat, then reheated. They just didn't taste quite right. My son enjoyed his pizza minus... More

In Rockford for one night and hotel staff recommended the Stone Eagle. I am glad they did. Friendly staff and management was right on the spot. Good food, not cheap, but not too expensive. Drinks were generous. Was a wonderful alternative to all the franchise restaurants out there.
