Excelllent food, but pricey

Jim's has great steaks and decor. A musician played lovely harp music. I bought the cheapest steak on the menu, chopped steak, which was $15. Most steaks ran between $24-$50. Our waitress asked if we wanted bread, and we said yes. It was very delicious, but the four slices of bread were $5.50... read more

I was excited to hear that I would be going to Jim's Steakhouse. I had wanted to try it for sometime. I came with a large group and we were seated quickly after a few drinks at the bar. The restaurant has a great ambiance. The service from start to finish was great. The menu has so many great choices,... More

We ate here because it was close to our hotel, and the re views said reasonable price ($$). When we arrived, I was a bit skeptical we could afford it. The atmosphere was quiet and romantic. We were seated, and presented with menus. Yes, the steaks were about what I expected ($24-45), but they have reasonably priced items on the... More

Try the blue Cheese Salad and Rib Eye! Yum! A little hard to find downstairs but once you do it's a good dark place to eat good food. Plus its the only thing open around there in the area.

We visited Jim's on a Sunday night to celebrate a birthday. We had not been to this location, but had been "fans " of Jim's steakhouse when it was on Main Street in Peoria many many years ago. We were hesitant to try it because some reviews had not been positive, but for old times sake we decided to give... More

We went for brunch on Easter so we knew going in that it would be crowded and difficult. There were a lot of temp servers and we got one -- she tried but not as polished as a good server. We really liked all of the cold items on the buffet - the shrimp, oysters, salads, fruit, etc. Items were... More

My wife and I joined another couple for dinner at Jim's Steakhouse on a Saturday night. None of us had been to Jims in several years, but decided it might be nice to go back. Even though Jim's has been off of my radar, it was quite busy, which is usually indication of a good dining experience. We had cocktails,... More

The first time I dined at Jim's Steakhouse in Peoria was in 1996, the first year that the Illinois high school boys basketball tournament moved from Champaign-Urbana to Peoria. It came highly recommended by friends in Peoria who had been sampling Jim's prime steaks since the restaurant opened in 1960. I've been a regular customer during the state tournament ever... More

We had not returned to Jim's Steakhouse for a couple of years, but decided to give it another chance on New Years Eve 2014. Tried to get 7:00 reservation for two couples, but we're told they had no openings until 8:00. We agreed to take the 8:00 reservation. All four of us Arrived at 7:45 and were told that we... More

My wife and I travel and eat at restaurants here and abroad. For a great meal and good service you can't beat Jim's. Whether you have the wonderful steaks, or seafood- it's as good as you will find in much larger cities, and better than many. It's right here at home. Enjoy.
