I have Mixed emotions on this. This may sound crabby. But it is actually a sad story of what looks like it used to be a nice place. I don't mind old and worn to some degree, as it can add to the charm of some places. But I do mind mis-managed, and dirty. Actually that is not correct as... More

I have forgotten just exactly when, but I think it has been at least ten years since I discovered this place. The variety of the menu -including favorites that I often couldn't find at other breakfast cafés and pancake restaurants- the quality of its food, and the generous portions were an attraction from the start. Over the years, I continued... More

There's a difference between classic and dated. This place is dated. The menu is tired and unimaginative. The furnishings are worn and tired. The menu is out of the 1960s. And I don't mean that as a compliment. If you have a nostalgie craving for mediocrity, by all means go here. Otherwise, there's a much better place for breakfast up... More

If you go on a Sunday around 10:30 or 11, expect at least an hour wait because this is the place is where EVERYONE goes after church. The pancakes are great, but don't try to go healthy because their other food isn't.

The food was very good, the menu is so varied and everyone can find something they like. We went on a weekday morning so there was no crowd. I used to live in Park Ridge and know that on weekends parking is at a premium and waiting in line for the restaurant is the norm. But people continue to do... More

We love going to the Original Pancake House. It's always been consistent! My girls love the kids menu and they are very generous with their proportions. Love the decorated Christmas tree in the middle of the place, changes with the seasons!

We have been going here for breakfast for over 20 years through 4 kids and aging parents. The food is high quality and delicious. Love the baked Apple pancake.

The Apple Pancake is 5" high and fills a large plate. I comes down to 2" in a few seconds but it is as hot as lava. It is filled with apples , brown sugar and just fantastic. If you can finish it, you were really hungry. They serve coffee in a decanter that is left on your table...great taste... More
