I'm kind of torn with this place and may have to give it another try. The atmosphere is nice though some of the tables feel a bit close together. The service was so-so. Our server was pleasant enough but her attitude at times seemed a bit off. And the food was hit or miss. The ricotta stuffed eggplant was very... More

Probably eat at Giannis 3-4 times a month. Great location, food is very good, service always excellent. Portions are large- so we usually split something. Oh- and allows me to bring in my own wine from my cellar- $25 corkage. Highly recommend

I was introduced to this place by a friend. It is a very nice and dimly lit place for dinner. When I sit to eat, I forget where I am. Meaning I am no longer in Chicago... But more in a place of what I think it would be like in Italy. The food is reasonably priced and the wine... More

We absolutely love Gianni's! Tortellini con Prosciutto--our favorite dish! Their chocolate lava cake is also delish! Never had a bad experience there.

We went to this restaurant for a birthday, but due to a family member not feeling well during the meal (nothing to do with the restaurant), we truly did not get to give Gianni's Café a full review. What I will say is our server was gracious and expedited our exit as we needed to leave in a hurry. From... More

If you like paying high prices and going downtown to trendy overcrowded bars/restaurants then youll rate this a 5. I like value and comfort a relaxing atmosphere. Leave this place for those who really need to be seen. and impress!

I first tried writing this review on Google and could not get it to go through. Here goes. I called in to ask some questions on the online menu. This was for the Palatine location. The lady who answered asked if she could put me on hold. Over eight minutes later she came back on the line. At that time... More

The only thing better than the service is the food, and both are excellent. Both restaurants go out of their way to accommodate each visitor. Make a reservation though as both facilities (Deer Park & Palatine) are usually very busy no matter what nights they are open. I have read the only review regarding that critcized the service. I found... More

I will be brief. This is a fabulous place for Italian food. If you want something different, or a change to the pasta, they will make it. Fully recommended.

There's a Gianni's Cafe near the very nice Deer Park shopping center that is intimate and offers always good Italian food--I've even had a dinner or two catered, one of which I never admitted was not my doing (nobody asked). Their sister restaurant in downtown Palatine is larger and just as good. You won't be disappointed.
