Amazing food! Upscale/formal restaurant

I had the pasta with lump crab meat, shrimp, and scallops with red sauce instead of white. It was the best pasta I've had in years! It's a formal restaurant, so dress nicely!

I always feel I need to tell people about this out of the way spot. It has the best inked pasta that I have had in Chicago as well as many other choices. It has a great wine selection and is even known to have good live music on occasion.

The Chicago Tribune restaurant critic wrote a piece recently , during restaurant week, about Volare. My wife and I had never dined there, but the review was very positive. We went for a lunch , on a Thursday. This is a good sized restaurant, but it was quite busy. Now we know why. The service and the food were A-!.... More

This was my first visit and won't be the last. Our group ordered calamari and baked clams for app. Both were excellent. Caesar salad great. Ordered sea bass for dinner, the best I ever had anywhere. We all enjoyed our drinks, food and deserts.

First time at Oakbrook Terrace location. Shared 3 appetizers with my husband, all superb: Grilled Mista (which included the most tender calamarie), Rotolini di Melanzane(baked eggplant stuffed with cheese and Salsiccia e Peperoni (Italian pork sausage and peppers). Hefty portions were served by an attentive wait staff. Food, service and ambiance resulted in a terrific evening.

been here before, we used to go to giannotti's and then they closed, you can't get any closer to the same food, little neck clams to die for, zuppa de mare one of the best, great apps. posh decor, and after dinner you can enjoy entertainment in their lounge, live music , in and outdoor seating in the summer time,... We had a late family Christmas party at the restaurant for about 25. I didn't care for the risotto I ordered, but in general the food seemed fine. The restaurant was virtually empty the entire time we were there, but as soon as our scheduled time was up, the staff was VERY pushy for us to leave. We were still... More

I was guest at a party at Volare, and enjoyed the food and surroundings very much. I found the menu complete, the service attentive, and my meal excellent. The meals aren't inexpensive, probably averaging about $25, but this restaurant offers a little creative slant to many of them. I ordered seafood and was very pleased. There were a number of... Our group of approx. 15 had a great time at Volare. I can't speak to the atmosphere or typical service because we were in a private room so I'll only speak to the food: outstanding! The menu has all the basics you would expect and a few you might not, such as a pistachio encrusted sea bass. We had an... More

Fine family dining best describes our evening at Volare. We came upon this restaurant by recommendation from a family member who made this choice for a birthday celebration. We started our meal with the grilled calamari-tender and perfectly prepared and small plate Rotollini di Molazano-eggplant roll ups - equally delicious. Our server, Chris was very accommodating as one family member... More
