Eleven of us came here after an evening out. Parking was nearby. Aside from being very warm in there (September has been wonderfully cool but they hadn’t gotten the temperature right that night), it was a fun, high-energy place to hang for a few drinks and appetizers before calling it a night. The beer selection is amazing and they have... More

Six of us went for an evening out. Food and drinks were good and reasonable. I had the shrimp creole and it was very tasty. The size of our party dictated an automatic gratuity. We asked for the check to be split into thirds and even split the items by the couples for the server. This is something their system... More

This is a great little restaurant in every way. The style is casual. Inside it's a little Chicago sports temple. The decor is a real conversation starter, especially the ladies room. Their menu features a delish lobster roll, cajan dishes, excellent hamburgers, great french fries; in fact, there is something for everyone. There is a nice, spacious outdoor eating area... More

Every time we are in the Oak Park area we spend at least on evening at Poor Phil's. We enjoy the outdoor dining, the great and very moderate priced fish dishes (try the snow crab legs or the gumbo) and the great beer selection. Not to forget the always friendly service. We'll be back for a fifth time.

Great place if you truly love beer. My chowder and BLT on rye were good. What stands out however were the beers available. Just a bunch of draws and even more bottles. The choices made easier by Zach. Thanks for fine afternoon in an interesting neighborhood.

We love this bar/restaurant for it's atmosphere and huge selection of beers. Breakfast is our only choice as we've found the food to be 'fair' at lunch time. They have a great outdoor dining area which is always hopping when the weather is good.

On a sumer day, you can't beat Poor Phil's for al fresco dining. Light car and foot traffic just enough to keep it interesting, and the green of Oak Park really adds to the experience. Food is good, yet remember the operation is an up-scale sports bar.

Not really welcoming for breakfast but nice for drinks later in the day I suppose...They claimed to be open for breakfast but it didn't really seem to be, short staffed. They had nice happy hour type food and drink. Nice place to go after a sporting event.

Two thumbs up! Murphy burger for lunch was just perfect, breakfast was outstanding (try the Hash/Bash), and the fish and chips were the best this side of Ireland. Lucky for us Poor Phil's was located adjacent to our hotel, chosen because of a special event. We will definitely go back next time we are in Chicago even staying somewhere else.

I noticed some reviews about the service being poor. My server (inside) was attentive and great. I had a great meal (king crab) and a great experience. I would recommend you try this place.
