I was not at all impressed when I ate here recently. The service was fast but the hummus was bland and the chicken swarma bland and dry. It's really a fast-food restaurant. I won't be going back. Grape Leaves is just a few blocks away and while it is a bit more expensive the food is significantly better.

I've been going to Jerusalem Cafe ever since it opened and it is one of the restaurants I miss the most when I'm away from Oak Park. The food is delicious and the service is nice. I especially like their lamb kabob sandwich and the falafel one as well as the Turkish coffee or the Persian tea. It's a great... More

After a morning spent hoofing around the historic district, my wife and I stopped in at the Jerusalem Café looking for a light, flavorful lunch, and we were more than satisfied! They have a buffet, but it looked a bit picked over, so we ordered from the menu. We had a shish kabob platter, sides of taboule and hummous, and... More

Outstanding, made to order food. My favorite is the shish kabob sandwich and if I'm really hungry I order up the shish kabob platter. Portion are generous. And the fresh brewed ice tea is amazing. Very clean and I love the music they play it really sets the tone and takes you to someplace else while you eat. The staff... More

the first time I went to this restaurant was 5 years ago and absolutely loved it. The food is amazing, their lunch buffet is great and everything is just plain delicious. I wish I could have some of their shish kabbob, rice pilaf and hummus right now and lets not leave their pita chips. This place had authentic flavor and... More

Read in the paper that Jerusalem cafe received an award for cleanness, we decided to try it. Food has a lot of flavor, good taste. Good falafel, excellent price.

I am Middle Eastern, so I know my shawarma, and this is good stuff. The beef shawarma is spiced and cooked perfectly. The falafel is also very good. They give generous portions, whether you get a sandwich or a plate with rice.

Authentic middle eastern food prepared most of the time by the owner. He makes it to order, so don't expect a mcdonald's like turn over. If you have 5-10 minutes, its well worth the wait and not expensive.

The ice tea is the best. The food is even better. Not your average place. Staff show they care about quality.

If you like foods from Jerusalem, you will like this place. It has all the foods from the middle east. Fresh foods prepared fast. A bit different from every other restaurant nearby.
