Francisco Lopez, known as Chef Paco, of New Rebozo started in Oak Park. He is eccentric, fun, enthusiastic about food and the most welcoming person you will ever come to meet. Paco is the Chef/Owner of one of The Best Authentic Mexican Restaurants in the Chicago land area as voted by the Mexican government, an honor many patrons agree with. To ensure a healthier menu and contradictory to many Mexican restaurants. Paco's specials are always innovative with traditional roots and seasonal ingredients. Over the years, New Rebozo has been given awards for its authenticity and just downright great food. Oh molé!

You feel like you are visiting a gracious friend's home when you dine at New Rebozo. Chef Paco visits with guests at each table. Had the Beef Enchilada's. Not steak mind you, but ground beef with a Chef Boyardee sauce. No side dish included, no beans, no rice, no salad and all this for more than most Mexican places charge for all of the previously mentioned items plus Steak Enchilada's. Great atmosphere inside and out mind you but the food is not very authentic.... More

There are certain perfect dishes I've been on a lifelong quest to find: ceviche camaron, chocolate phosphate, crawfish etoufee, thin crust cheese pizza. And mole. I may have seen the mountaintop of mole at New Rebozo. The enchilada mole sampler is an amazing dish to share with a group. Six enchiladas covered (but not smothered) in different moles, including hazelnut,... More

We were quite impressed with the Food. We got lost trying to find the place and hardly any parking, but it is worth it. We tried the specials for the evening and were not disappointed. Soup was a little blah, but the Drink Sangaria was Fanasctic

Second visit to this delightful restaurant, in the same city as a friend of mine. Fabulous food, attentive (but not over attentive service), lovely atmosphere. Not sure why you'd go elsewhere if you want excellent Mexican food.

The owner is delightful - OMG! The food is delicious. A step above Americanized Mexican food. The moles are my favorite. The daily specials sound great and sometimes are but don't neglect the whole menu. Think about sharing to get the most out of your visit.

New Rebozo is one of the few Mexican restaurants that routinely offers special dishes. I rarely order anything but one of the specials, though all of the food is good. The specials are only available at dinner; lunch has the usual Mexican entrees. This is one of our favorite places.

The greeting is effusive, the description of the specials is delivered with enthusiasm and pleasure. How could we not indulge in all of the specials? The Moles were unbelievable melt in your mouth wonderful, the ceviches superb and the meat hot pot divine. Great service, excellent food - what is not to rave about? Everybody in the restaurant looked very... More

We all had the chicken enchiladas with poblano mole. Yum! Best mole we ever have had. Chips and salsa very good.
