Francisco Lopez, known as Chef Paco, of New Rebozo started in Oak Park. He is eccentric, fun, enthusiastic about food and the most welcoming person you will ever come to meet. Paco is the Chef/Owner of one of The Best Authentic Mexican Restaurants in the Chicago land area as voted by the Mexican government, an honor many patrons agree with. To ensure a healthier menu and contradictory to many Mexican restaurants. Paco's specials are always innovative with traditional roots and seasonal ingredients. Over the years, New Rebozo has been given awards for its authenticity and just downright great food. The passion and love that comes through every member of the New Rebozo staff is intoxicating and will bring you back time and time again.

Bueno!

The food is Mexican at its best! Rather a small place but very cute. However, your bill can really add up. Not sure if you even get free refills on coke. Took a friend there for lunch and our bill was $50 before a tip. But the food was yummy and service great. Not open every day for lunch... read more

This is one of our favorite places to eat anywhere in the country! LOVE the fish tacos. The margaritas are killer and they don't hold back on the tequila. WARNING: When they say the Shaker of Margarita is enough for two....believe them! That doesn't mean it's two margaritas.....I got 3 1/2 from mine! The atmosphere is great and Chef Paco... More

Excellent and authentic "high end" Mexican cuisine with unique twists. Do not like the mojitos made with tequila though

What incredible food! This is quality Mexican food, made by a Chef who mixes traditional with modern. Paco (Oh my god!) is your host/chef. He will visit your table to welcome you and tell you about the day's specials, all made in harmony with foods of the season. Fortunately, he makes his moles year-round, because I could eat them any... More

A group of us attending a conference in Oak Park visited the New Rebozo during our last day here. What a great choice! Although I am sure that the regular menu items are fine, we all chose one of the daily specials after listening to Chef Paco describe each one - accompanied by pictures on his tablet. They did not... You feel like you are visiting a gracious friend's home when you dine at New Rebozo. Chef Paco visits with guests at each table. He describes the ingredients of the molé like a vintner describes wine. Chef Paco is proud of his homemade molé and he has right to be! In nice weather, the Oak Park restaurant has a pretty... More

Had the Beef Enchilada's. Not steak mind you, but ground beef with a Chef Boyardee sauce. No side dish included, no beans, no rice, no salad and all this for more than most Mexican places charge for all of the previously mentioned items plus Steak Enchilada's. Great atmosphere inside and out mind you but the food is not very authentic.... More

There are certain perfect dishes I've been on a lifelong quest to find: ceviche camaron, chocolate phosphate, crawfish etoufee, thin crust cheese pizza. And mole. I may have seen the mountaintop of mole at New Rebozo. The enchilada mole sampler is an amazing dish to share with a group. Six enchiladas covered (but not smothered) in different moles, including hazelnut,... More

We were quite impressed with the Food. We got lost trying to find the place and hardly any parking, but it is worth it. We tried the specials for the evening and were not disappointed. Soup was a little blah, but the Drink Sangaria was Fanasctic

Second visit to this delightful restaurant, in the same city as a friend of mine. Fabulous food, attentive (but not over attentive service), lovely atmosphere. Not sure why you'd go elsewhere if you want excellent Mexican food.
