Francisco Lopez, known as Chef Paco, of New Rebozo started in Oak Park. He is eccentric, fun, enthusiastic about food and the most welcoming person you will ever come to meet. Paco is the Chef/Owner of one of The Best Authentic Mexican Restaurants in the Chicago land area as voted by the Mexican government, an honor many patrons agree with. To ensure a healthier menu and contradictory to many Mexican restaurants. Paco's specials are always innovative with traditional roots and seasonal ingredients. Over the years, New Rebozo has been given awards for its authenticity and just downright great food. The passion and love that comes through every member of the New Rebozo staff is intoxicating and will bring you back time and time again.

Fantastic food, great service, friendly staff, comfortable environment!

Fantastic food, great service, friendly staff, comfortable environment! This place has it all. I tried this place for the first time last night and will go back again and again. I tried one of the specials and my date had enchiladas. Both dishes were terrific.

The food here is wonderful. But the real star of the evening is the owner/chef Paco. He's the master of the food and an incredibly gracious host who will be sure to greet you and make you feel special as he enthusiastically explains the evening's specials. The food is inventive, fresh, and tasty.

My wife and I went Chef Paco's advice, given from pictures he showed us on a tablet for a great trio of fresh salads like guacamole with pomegranate seeds, mango, jicama salad and cactus salad. All were bright, fresh and delicious. My wife got the chicken enchiladas with six moles, all intriguing and delicious. I got the Puebla combo of... More

We have been going to "Paco's" for years and it is one of our favorite restaurants anywhere. As regulars, chef Paco treats us like old friends and we always chat with him off and on about his family and what he is up to. But even for a new customer, Paco prides himself on presenting the specials for that night... More

Chef Paco is the best! This has been our family favorite since the beginning. While the prices have increased, the food is still outstanding. Our family has dinner at New Rebozo several time / year.

...the service was a tad slow. Additionally, in my opinion it was way overpriced as well. The cost of the fish tacos was $ 43.90 for 6 ( 3 per person) which is in the neighborhood of $ 7.30 per taco. No rice, no beans, no sides of any type. Would I return? Sure if someone else was paying for... More

There are always families here are a fair amount of kerfuffle. The owner chef is very nice but a little overwhelming for me. The food is very good, sometimes not quite as hot as I like, but that's a matter of preference. All in all, a mixed bag that seems to vary by visit.

The food is Mexican at its best! Rather a small place but very cute. However, your bill can really add up. Not sure if you even get free refills on coke. Took a friend there for lunch and our bill was $50 before a tip. But the food was yummy and service great. Not open every day for lunch. Sometimes... More
