The atmosphere, the service and the food are all, quite simply, outstanding. We go on special occasions, although it's not all that expensive. Last visit was for our anniversary. My wife had lobster which was perfect. I had scallops, which were melt-in-your-mouth wonderful. Love this place.

Monday and Tuesday they have a great deal on lobster. They serve it grilled or boiled and its good both ways. Potatoes and broccoli come on the plate too. It's probably the best deal in the area. The chocolate mousse isn't bad either!

This is a wonderful restaurant. You feel like you are in a Paris Bistro. The staff is very attentive, the menu interesting and delicious. A really great, romantic spot.

My friends have eaten here many times. It was their choice for dinner, since I was visiting the area. I was not disappointed. It's a small attractive restaurant with tables set with crisp white tablecloths. It was a week night at 6:30pm. There were only a couple of tables with diners. Our waitress was personable and attended our needs. One... More

Perfect place to get together. The food was well prepared and classic. We had the lobster special. Guests at the next table were raving about the featured fish dish as well. The setting was attractive and the ambiance was calm and relaxing. Lots of local regulars there. Everyone new each other. You really feel at home.

This is a cute restaurant inside a boutique hotel in Oak Park. We came for lunch on our way to the Frank Lloyd Wright Studio and House. Other than being across the street from the Hemingway Museum, I'm not sure what is Hemingway about the place but we'll be back. The food was tasty, the place well executed, the service... More

Yes, it's that season again .....that short window of time to bite into these crunchy, succulent giants. I ate my first soft shell crab at age 15 when my Mother and I went to New Orleans and visited an outdoor restaurant on Lake Ponchartrain. What a delight eating the whole crab shell and all. Since then I have eaten a... More

I have had wonderful dinners at Hemmingways and this was my first brunch. My sister was in from out of town and I don't think I could have picked a more perfect local place for us to have brunch! I will be back!

Attentive service; traditional French cuisine, competently executed; and a European feel. What's not to like?

The waitress took 25 minutes to return after handing us menus because she was having an animated discussion with a friend at the bar -- I had to send another waiter to fetch her. The food was not particularly tasty or well prepared when it arrived. The place itself is quite pleasant . It has a nice quiet ambience. I... More
