Our meal at Aripo's was interesting, but we needed more guidance so that we didn't have so much fried food on our plates. The pabellon bowl was not bad, but just a simple lettuce salad with chicken and nothing too special. I think that we would have been more pleased if we would have enlisted the help of a waitress... My wife and I just love small, unpretentious restaurants that serve authentic ethnic food. We love them even more if they are bring-your-own-bottle. Aripo’s is all of this and more. Situated in the heart of Oak Park on Marion Street, Aripo’s is the real deal when it comes to Venezuelan food. They feature a variety of interesting appetizers, mouth watering... More

Went for lunch w/3 others. Aripo's is convenient to the Harlem el stop, the Oak Park Metra station and the Lake Theater (on the mall). It is south of Lake St. on Marion at Westgate (but on the east side of the street). I would avoid parking on Marion and take advantage of one of the parking lots nearby. It... More

My daughter and I were exploring Oak Park for the first time. We found Aripo to be lovely inside and we felt like we had stepped into a small and beautifully decorated restaurant in Venezuela. The prices were reasonable. We bought an Arepa chicken sandwich for about $7 each. It had chicken, black beans, white cheese, and fried plantains. I... More

I really don't have much to add to the comments mad by other reviewers. Arepo's is simply outstanding. For the cost of a fast food lunch you have a the opportunity to experience Venezuela street fair in Oak Park. Would be a wonderful place for a fun casual outing if they offered beer and wine or llowed BYOB. Highly recommended.

This is a sandwich shop with Venezuelan fare. Having lived in Venezuela, I was happy to find a restaurant with authentic fare. It was good and authentic. I wish there was table service and a wine and beer option. Location is handy.

Historically, oak park really tried to support local small businesses, but lately its felt overrun by chains. Arepo's should remind locals of why small businesses are so important. This place has fresh and delicious food, plus it's not your run of the mill flavor profiles. My favories is the la nuestra which has shredded beef, black beans and fried plantains.... More

I volunteer at a store across the street from this place and never noticed it until one day...amazinnnggg!!! Meet the arepa! A corn-like pancake filled with pretty much whatever you want it to be filled with. My favs are A5 - De Pollo Mechado (shredded chicken) & A16 - Conuquera (Sautéed red peppers and onions with fried plantains, black beans,... More

I have never had Venezuelan food before so I don't know how authentic this place is but nevertheless the food is tasty and well priced. Service can be slow and there is not much of an atmosphere.

This new restaurant is great for a delicious and unique lunch. This was my first time trying Venezuelan cuisine and I loved it. The arepas are amazing and there are so many choices! Did I mention that it is inexpensive also? I am definitely coming here again.
