Food was good but alas it closed

They had good, fresh food but they were very slow. Everything was made to order, but the wait could be endless. Maybe if they ad advertised more they might still be open.

We went in here excited since the reviews were good. Ordered 2 arepas and a cachapa. The yellow cheese was just yellow cheddar not Gouda like we are used to. The cachapa had mozzarella instead of queso de mano like we asked if it had first before ordering. We were disappointed having been to Venezuela and awaiting the same kind... More

The place is clean and the food is great at a reasonable price. People take care of you really nice. The only cons that I found was parking as I had to pay an hour parking for 10 minutes it took my visit. The street parking are few and always busy so you have to use the parking lot.

We loved the food, never had Venezuelan before. Highly recommend the fresh mango juice. Might be a little too adventurous for kids.

The food here is very very good. Be it an arepa or a bowl, the food is delicious and VERY authentic. Reminded me of my home in Brazil. The service is slow but the food is so good it's worth it. The natural juices are also wonderful.

We went here with a friend who spent some time in Venezuela. The food was excellent! All the meats/fish had different seasonings making for very distinct tastes. Their sauces are a must have - we spent the whole meal trying to identify what was in them so we could make them at home. The decor looks like a traditional Venenzuelan... More

I do want to acknowledge that all the food is made fresh, but then I must make the suggestion to get more help in both the front and the back. Definitely a new taste that one does not find on every corner. The food and especially the arepa were delicious fresh and tasty. I would definitely go back for a... More

Loved the arepas, kachapas and pabellon. Kids loved the empanadas too. My guess is the meat dishes are fabulous too, just not for us.

I'd never heard of Arepas until I found this restaurant in Oak Park, so some friends and I decided to try them. This is a great new dish to add to your culinary experiences. Arepas are like tortillas on naan bread. I had the arepa listed on the menu as "everyone's favorite" and I enjoyed it very much. The restaurant... More

I moved to Oak Park from a city in South Florida that saw a massive influx of Venezuelans after Chavez took power in the early 2000's. So needless to say I have had my fill of authentic Venezuelan food. I stumbled upon this place by chance and walked in. The menu consists of Venezuelan staples arepas, empanadas, cachapas, and meats.... More
