Maybe Restaurant Week's Not Such a Great Thing

Twice in a week, we were a little disappointed. We've been to this restaurant once or twice, but not for a couple years. So when restaurant week rolled around we were glad to see McCormick & Schmick's on the list. It's not bad and I would have to say that I would recommend it, but I remember it... read more

We went there for the Restaurant Week dinner. They were out of some items on the very limited menu and the ones they did have were not as described in the menu. For example, they did not have either of the desserts on the menu and each entree was missing one of the sides described. It was like the chef... More

I really liked Mccormick and Schmidt food. The staff was really really helpful because they menu is confusing to some people. I was very pleased and my nephew was as well it was his birthday dinner.

McCormick & Schmick's is one of my favorite restaurants. We had an outstanding evening and the mood of the restaurant was very festive, not loud! Our server, young man by the name of Banks, was very cordial and a real pro. It was a busy night but he was able to keep us happy. The meals were excellent. We had... More

We only make it out here for their Veteran's Day dinner. The menu we choose from is limited but satisfactory. The service is pretty spotty. Not sure if it is because the meal is complimentary and they feel they will not receive a tip but that should not be an excuse for poor service

Our first time we thought perhaps we caught the cook on a bad day. Alaskan King Crab came out cold and the quality incomparable to some of the top seafood in Chicagoland like Joes Seafood. We came back this week to give it another shot. It was disappointing again. This time did steak. It was burnt as well as the... More

This is a serviceably upscale restaurant -- not "cuisine," but decent, and the place has a nice comfy feel. The standout from our experience, though, was our young waiter, Banks, who was not only prompt and accurate, he also managed to be attentive without being intrusive, in a way that you seldom find in American restaurants. At one point he... More

I had a great whitefish dinner here served with a mashed potato and vegetable. I felt like I stepped back in time - and not in a good way. The place seemed tired and old - needs a modern and more upbeat vibe. The service was so SLOW - especially given the place was not at all crowded on a... More

We were there for dinner on 9/25/15. Our waiter suggested the Shrimp kisses as an appetizer for us to share and they were delicious. My guest had the seafood sampler platter for dinner and it was cooked perfectly. I had the almond crusted rainbow trout that was excellent. We shared a dessert called the chocolate bag and it was incredible.... More
