This is a great restaurant for above average French food! They do a great job, can be a little price for their berdeauxs!
The very civilized and pleasant atmosphere made me really want to love this restaurant, but it only rises to the level of "like." A $15 cobb salad for lunch should have been better and more cobb-y than a half slice of bacon, a half hard-boiled egg, a half dozen small cubes of turkey, and 2 or 3 grape tomatoes served... More
Attended as part of a hosted dinner. Hors d'oeuvres were delicious and varied - lots of seafood, which is a downside to me as I'm allergic, but there was plenty else to choose from. House wines were worthwhile. The limited hosted menu still had so many good options it was hard to choose, but I didn't regret the steak with... More
Mon Ami Gabi describes itself as serving classic bistro food. I figured that I'd try the steak frites. I also opted for au poivre sauce (extra cost). The food was good, but not great. The steak was cooked as ordered (medium), but the au poivre did not have much peppery flavor. The frites were unusual, thinly sliced about a quarter... More
My husband and I took my two sisters who flew in that day from California to Mon Ami Gabi for dinner last Friday night, August 24th. My one sister and I ordered steak and when it arrived, they both were cold and so were the plates. We told our server who took them back to the kitchen. The manager (short... More
The restaurant was very crowed when we arrived and the reservations were running about 30 minutes behind. Luckily they caught up and we were seating on time. I am glad we were not seated in the bar area which you could not even get to because it was so crowded. There is definitely not any room to wait or stand... More
Parking at the mall is not pleasant. The atmosphere and private rooms are very nice. Service ok... It was my daughters 26 th birthday and this was her choice. She and her boyfriend arrived first, and the hostess seeing some young kids put them in the back behind the bar. When mom and dad arrived we got to sit in... More
This is my stop for beef craving. My favorite item is steak with red wine sauce (the French word is not on my mind now). Sometimes your waiter may mistake your pronunciation of "medium well" as "medium rare". It is safe to order "medium." Scallop dish looks like using a scallop into at least two pieces. Salmon Salad is a... More
The macaroni gratin (mac & cheese to you English speakers) used to contain ham (jambon to you Francophones) now it is an EXTRA $2.00. A chintzy touch by a formerly gracious restaurant. The mac & cheese is now made with miniature orrchiete instead of penne, the bechamel is now a watery disappointment and what used to be pieces of ham... More
Located at the Oakbrook mall but not through the mall. Very nice decor and the menu feels the same as the other two locations. The staf are very helpfull and careing not like a lot of places that just dont care. I would and will return to this location and the other two.
