He has worked at many fine dining establishments in his 25 years of being a chef, most notably he owned and operated The Cypress Room in Crystal River Florida and was an executive chef at Disney World. At Disney he was in charge of Epcot, The Magic Kingdom, The Royal Floridian and Disney's annual Wine and Cheese Festival. Was fatally injured in a threshing machine accident on Nov. 15, 1866. He was survived by his wife and two young children, Walter and Julia. Elisie and her children continued to live in the Mansion for many years. The Mansion is currently owned and operated by Kathy Cox and Jerry Conway. The Mansion received a St. Clair County Landmark Award in 1963 from the St. Clair County Historical Society. Please come by and see what we have to offer, you will be glad you did! Fine Dining with a Casual Feel.

First, this is an expensive restaurant. They changed their menu the night we dined actually. It is more expensive than the menu found online. Expect to pay $100-$300 on average for 3 courses and drinks for a couple. Second, we had three problems with the restaurant. The first was the lamb. My... read more

We recently visited The Mansion to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. Being new to the area, I suggested this restaurant based on the glowing reviews from trip advisor. Crab cakes were our starter: fresh and full of crab, although a bit bland on the palette. Then delightful little salads were served with a lovely and very light dressing. Next came... More

Always great service and great food! The restaurant is an old house. It is tucked away off the highway. You have to be careful or you may drive by. The martini's are great!

I went there for a dinning "experience" with my parents and that's exactly what we got. An experience. The food is far superior than what you would expect to find in a smaller town. It is a hidden gem. The owners and waitstaff were a pleasure to meet and I will definitely be back often. I left this visit wanting... More

The Mansion is in an old mansion home. We ate there on a Tuesday night and arrived about 6 pm. We were seated in the bar area which was very open. The staff was friendly and prompt. We had the special for the night which was escargot for the appetizer and surf and turf for the main course. The escargot... More

We eat here fairly frequently. The staff is excellent and well trained. Never heard a complaint from friends, family or colleagues. The sirloin with mama butter and bread pudding are my favorite. Love sitting by the fireplace in the winter. They have multiple rooms, great for private events.

We made last minute reservations on Sat night in prom season. Seated immediately in the main room but there are at least 3 private rooms for large parties. This has been preserved as an early 1900s house & has that charm! Small plates that include lamb lollipops offer plenty of choices. French onion soup that's "better than Famous-Barr", pasta dishes...
