Great Food & Service!

There are very few "real" Deli's left. This is my favorite. I even have a British friend who comes over several times a year and asks to go to Max & Benny's every time. Love the food and the many choices and the service is great.

Went here with family, placed packed, thought this would be a good sign. We were all very disappointed. At best corn beef just tolerable and that's my highest ranking of all the dishes we had. Soup water down, pastrami horrible and chop liver questionable. Never will return. Spoke with friends afterwards and they agreed, saying they had to send their... More

The food is good and addictive. I have brought first timers with me and now they request to go there every other week which is a 35-40 minute drive from home.

I've been going to M&B's for years and whenever I have the "need" for a hot bowl of soup and a warm corned beef sandwich, there is no other place I want to go but to M&B's. I've been to the "famous" NY's deli's, not impressed. My heart belongs to two guys, Max and Benny. It is food that feeds... More

Love this place. I go there for breakfast , lunch & dinner. Great variety of food! My faves : nova Lox on bagel w/ low fat cc, barley soup, chili & mini bagels. Fun place with friends & they never rush you. Very friendly servers for the most part. Pricey sandwiches but they are HUGE.

Max and Bennys is one of the best Jewish delis left in the Chicago area. Divided into two sections, you can sit down and enjoy several traditional Jewish meals or treats or just plain good food, after dinner you can meander thru and choose from a large selection of frozen soups, cold cuts, salads and bakery treats to take home.... A stranger clientele I haven't seen: a mix of old, infirm, obese people (more walkers per square inch than a nursing home) along with pedestrian or extended families. I go for the fatty pastrami on rye and sweet (not sour) cabbage soup; when I'm feeling particularly unhealthy I'll add fries. Not the best deli food, but the best in the... More

If you do not love fresh made soups, overstuffed deli sandwiches, great omlettes do not dine at M+B's. Breakfast and lunch are great, dinners can be better. The lox plate is my favorite, but the half hot pastrami sandwich with chicken soup is heaven.. Matzo ball and cabbage soups are staples. If you are from the east the rare toast... More

Portions are large. Food is flavorful. The menu has so much to offer that you have to go back. Best comfort food around. Old world service with the modern day ambiance. Perfect blend of generations. Great for the entire family.
