Wonderful, reasonably priced deli. Fantastic soup with kreplach, just like Bubbie used to make. Large portions, excellent service. If you aren't in the mood for Jewish deli fare, they have salads and other kinds of food. Free, assorted rolls were fantastic! Wish we had a deli this good at home!

Max and Benny's is expensive but the food is very good. It's authentic deli food all the way. The desserts are yummy too but costly. It's very easy to park here also. Waiting in the take out line can take a long time but that's because it's good quality food. The interior hasn't changed much over the years . It's... More

We've been going to Max & Benny's since they were at Willow & Pfingsten in Glenview. Great chopped liver, corn beef, potato pancakes, soups, salads, breakfast served all day. Something on the menu for everyone. Friendly service.

Great lunch had by all in our party. Rubens, tuna, and pancakes were all fantastic. Very large portions so you won't leave hungry. The bakery is also great lots to chose from. Can't wait to go back. We also had very fast and friendly service.

This restaurant has been here for a long time. I am amazed. The food is ordinary, the attitude of managers and sowers is not customer friendly. I haven't eaten at the restaurant for at least ten years, because we were treated rudely by an owner, and thought maybe ours was an isolated incident, but recently I have heard similar complaints... ...or maybe even east of the Hudson River. Food is always excellent, portions much more than adequate, service has never been less than perfect. We live in Wisconsin and plan our trips through Chicago so that we stop for lunch or dinner at Max & Benny's. They also offer a deli counter and a fully stocked bakery. We also take... More

Max & Benny's does corned beef and homemade soups like no other! Reminds me of the great deli's in New York -- and it is right here in Northbrook. I like that the wait staff are older and more experienced.

Throughout our meal our group kept asking variations of "Why is this place so popular?" The soup was cold; the dirty plates remained on the table the entire time; a tray stand and empty tray blocked the aisle, inconveniencing both staff and patrons. We were very disappointed.

If you are a fan of a good deli, you have to try this one. The food is fresh and wonderful. The portions are very large, so I suggest you order the junior sandwich and you may still take half home. The corned beef is lean and delicious and the breads are very fresh. They have a big menu, so... More

I say this because I have eaten there twice in the past two months and both times have had very slow and inattentive service, hot soup served lukewarm, and food that was fresh and tasty but probably not among the best delicatessen food I have ever had. Also, on both visits, some of the staff seemed somewhat brusque, or maybe... More
