This was a Saturday night, after a movie -- table for 6. Service : Excellent Menu: Wide choice to suit all tastes Ambiance: Bit on the "loud" side but manageable All 6 people agreed that their meals were good (seafood and steaks ordered). I had the strip-steak medium rare. Served hot, and cooked to perfection. Really good choice for $27.00... More

My Guinness was very good - at a fair price - and it's downhill from there. The bread served us was dry and the bottom was inedible - c'mon folks, this is simple - put out fresh bread! The appetizers weren't much to talk about except they were pricey.... Our server wasn't great either - probably didn't help but the... More

The menu is an absolute treasure hunt. For appetizers, we ordered the Crispy Brussel Sprouts and Tender Braised “Catalpa Grove Farm” lamb; both were generous portions and tasty beyond belief. For salads, we ordered the Marinated Sprout and Red Cabbage, Marinated Local Beet Salad and the Blood Orange & Arugula Salad; the salads were each unique in flavor and tasted... More

A lovely ambience with excellent food. The service staff is efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food the prepared well, and presentation is very nice. There are number of interesting and tasty appetizers in addition to more standard choices. The menu choices offer good variety, and portions are good-sized. A little more expensive but the pricing is in line with the... More

The food is really good. The owner is a jerk, as is the bartender. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth If you don't deal with them, it's a nice experience and the food is very good.

A friend took us here based on the Chicago Magazine #1 Burger review. When we got there it was obvious that we were in for a great experience. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is outstanding. Our table was never wanting for anything. We sampled a few appetizers including the italian sausage flatbread and the butternut squash soup. All... More

This is one of the nicest treats I could have offered to my out of town guest who has shown me such magnificent hospitality. She raved about the food, was delighted to meet the chef/owner, Sarah Stegner. The service was tremendous. Even the wait staff was excited about the quality and reputation of the place. I am headed back with... More

Prairie Grass Restaurant is one of the best restaurants in our area! All of the offerings are great but last night we enjoyed the "Shepard's Pie"---the most delicious version I have ever eaten. The taste was out of this world---a comfort food that was much more than a comfort! This restaurant is a cozy, comfortable spot but reservations are definitely... More

I've been wanting to try this place since owner and chef Sarah Stegner left downtown Chicago ritz. So NOT disappointed. The venue was bigger and less "cozy" then I expected. But all the oieces of the decor, from art to menu design, fit the place perfectly. Food was good solid, nothing furfural and foamy. The mashed potatoes were incredible, the... More
