Superb service, consistent food quality

I have had numerous business lunches at Prairie Grass, and while the noise level is a deterrent the service is uniformly great and the food is uniformly good (not amazing). We will continue to use this establishment for future lunches without hesitation.

A lively, noisy popular restaurant, serving Long Grass Beef. Doesn't matter what you order here...you will be pleased. Quality food at reasonable rates !

Tired of restaurant chain fare chain service and stratospheric prices that go with the name ? Take a journey to Northbrook , Il. and tucked between the big guys is a truly unique dining and service experience. If you are looking for a dining experience that combines a virtual explosion of taste and unique palette temptations then you need to... More

There is something comfortable with a hamburger. The quality of the meat and the variety of toppings make this an easy place to frequent. Service like the food is consistent and you know what the experience will be before you arrive. Dinner with the crispy half duck is quite satisfying and the brussel sprouts are yum.

This was a Saturday night, after a movie -- table for 6. Service : Excellent Menu: Wide choice to suit all tastes Ambiance: Bit on the "loud" side but manageable All 6 people agreed that their meals were good (seafood and steaks ordered). I had the strip-steak medium rare. Served hot, and cooked to perfection. Really good choice for $27.00... More

My Guinness was very good - at a fair price - and it's downhill from there. The bread served us was dry and the bottom was inedible - c'mon folks, this is simple - put out fresh bread! The appetizers weren't much to talk about except they were pricey.... Our server wasn't great either - probably didn't help but the... More

The menu is an absolute treasure hunt. For appetizers, we ordered the Crispy Brussel Sprouts and Tender Braised “Catalpa Grove Farm” lamb; both were generous portions and tasty beyond belief. For salads, we ordered the Marinated Sprout and Red Cabbage, Marinated Local Beet Salad and the Blood Orange & Arugula Salad; the salads were each unique in flavor and tasted... More

A lovely ambience with excellent food. The service staff is efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food the prepared well, and presentation is very nice. There are number of interesting and tasty appetizers in addition to more standard choices. The menu choices offer good variety, and portions are good-sized. A little more expensive but the pricing is in line with the... More

The food is really good. The owner is a jerk, as is the bartender. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth If you don't deal with them, it's a nice experience and the food is very good.

A friend took us here based on the Chicago Magazine #1 Burger review. When we got there it was obvious that we were in for a great experience. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is outstanding. Our table was never wanting for anything. We sampled a few appetizers including the italian sausage flatbread and the butternut squash soup. All... More
