When I told someone where we were dining, their first comment was wear old clothes! This place had a noticeable odor and such poor ventilation that by the time we left, all of our clothes were permeated with this very, very objectionable odor. The first thing we did on returning home was to put the clothes in the washing machine... More

I have been going to Ron Of Japan for the last 13 years with my friend and family. We were even on first name basis with the manager. We absolutely loved the food and we would go twice a month. As the years went by I moved further away but continued to go to ROJ despite it being 1 hour... More

I'm not a frequenter of Japanese restaurants, just now and then. The chef was entirely adequate, just not overly lively. Of course, we were absorbed in conversation so we may not have "worked" him into liveliness. No problems with the various items we ordered, I thought the sirloin was delicious. But I would expect it to be in Chicago. Nice... More

The first thing you see when you walk in is the definite Japanese atmosphere, as they do go all out with the decor. We waited in the bar area for a few minutes and no one asked if we wanted anything, let alone a drink. We were then seated at a table with two other couples so we didn't find... More

We ordered the Crown Specialties which included an appetizer (shrimps), salad, veggies & dessert. I had the Shrimp Entree & my husband had the Sirloin; both were very good. So was the fried rice (costs extra). The Green Tea ice cream is highly recommended. Re service, the staff did not act welcoming nor hospitable; they were all just going about... More

We weren't sure if we would really like this as it was our first time, but the food was excellent, and the service was generally very good. We would come back for sure. It wasn't perfect, but definitely memorable. We ordered several types of sushi as appetizers and they were generally good, but not superb. I can concur with a... More

Had dinner here for a company function. The restaurant was interesting inside and the menu had lots of variety, but those were the only positives about the experience. The place was cramped, our table was small and it was uncomfortable to eat, it also didn't help having lots of dirty dishes pile up. The service was lacking attention and were... More

Great food, a bit expensive, but the service was very poor. We order appetizers, they bring something else. if you want to ask the waitress a question about the menu, all she answered was yes yes.

The first thing you notice is the decor. My coworkers and I went to dinner tonight after a training class. It is a bit pricey but, we enjoyed ourselves and the service was good tonight. The food was what you would expect of a hibatchi grill.
