My friend and I went to this local restaurant because it was recommended by some sales rep friends of ours. We had the special salad of the day with fresh mozerella, tomatoes and fresh peaches drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. For dinner I had the shells with veal meatballs and it was delish! A small selection of Italian food cooked to perfection. The menu is on a chalkboard but it is easy to see because the restaurant is so small. We have never had a bad meal. Everything from salad and appetizers to entrees have always been delicious and hearty. Unfortunately, the size of the restaurant makes it difficult to get a table... More

I understand this Italian restaurant is quite popular, however the quality of service is really really bad. Almost forcing us to go out as early as possible and very unfriendly. The staff asked me maybe five times when my friend is coming even though we ordered for her already. I invited my close friends here, but very disappointed to my decision.... More

Menu is on the wall everyday which makes it hard to read. However, the menu changes daily with what is fresh and in season so that is a good thing. Quality food, owner has his favorite customers while others can be ignored.

The food is amazing and the service is even better. Very difficult to get a table immediately but the wait is worth it. Every dish is hand made and there has been no inkling of something being frozen and heated up. No matter what you order you will be pleased. Portion size is perfect. If you are in this area... More

On May 27 2015 I was visiting good friends in Glencoe IL. I visit them from home in Toronto for 2 reasons. #1 they are more like family #2 Chicken vesuvio. One day a restaurant in Toronto will make this dish and save me the 11 hour drive or the 1.5 hour Porter flight. But it is worth every second... More

top notch Italian food with generous servings, happy staff, and the owner, Frank Gallo, constantly circulating.. If you don't mind tables too close to each other, you will be treated to excellent food and a convivial atmosphere.

The first time we tried to eat here, there was an hour wait. After looking at their website, we discovered that you can get food to go and that's what we did. The carry out menu is much more limited than if you actually eat there, but you get an idea of what their food is all about. We ordered... More

This place is tiny, and does get crowded. The tables are on top of each other, here The menu variety is substantial The food quality is good, solid Northern Italian. There is nothing to rave about here; don't make a special trip. If you're in the area, try it out, it is worth a visit, Just don't buy into the... More

Having grown up savoring the northern Italian cooking of my' " just off the boat," nana, I think I know how excellent Italian food tastes, and this isn't it. The marinara sauce, which is the hallmark of a good Italian restaurant, was a thin as tomato juice, and tasted like it too-completely lacking in dimension. The menu, written on a... More
