Schmaltz Delicatessen has without doubt the best corned beef sandwich in the area. I also recommend their Matzo Ball soup! Those two items make for me a delightful lunch, especially with friends. The service is exception, although that takes place at the counter. Then you pick up your order and find a table to enjoy lunch together.

Hilariously, I had breakfast here the day before a trip to NYC - and the bagels from here were so yummy I didn't think I needed to bother getting one in New York! Everything Bagel was on point - tons of "everything" on both sides which is crucial. Bagels that are only covered in goodness on one side should be... More

My husband and I went there for lunch after church, and even though the place was packed, service was efficient and the wait was not long, so do not be put off by a line. Besides you definitely need some time to pick from all the tempting items. The half sandwich is so loaded with meat I cannot imagine anyone... More

Save the aggravation, save the airfare, avoid the horrible New York traffic and just go to Schmaltz in Naperville. For those of you who might have been born and raised in the "city", a trip to schmaltz will be like returning home. From watching your order fly down the guide wire to the preparers to experiencing a lesser version of... More

If you are around Naperville and think you may be hungry you must get into this deli and order yourself a mean sammich! If you want to devour the best tasting real-life sandwich you will brag about then order the Sloppy Paul overstuffed. Get yourself and drink and prepare to wake up your tastebuds. I don't want to oversell this... More

Try the pretzel bagel sandwich, potato knish and soup. All the food is amazing -- the prices are inexpensive and the portions are huge! If you can manage to save room for dessert, they have excellent baked goods. HIGHLY recommend this place. If you don't have time to eat and relax, order to go food in advance and pick it... More

Traditional corned beef sandwich (rye, mustard) and the corned beef on onion bagel with mayo, tomato and lettuce were both made perfectly as ordered with quality ingredients. Well managed, informal restaurant keeps up serving the lunch rush even on a busy Friday. Leftover half sandwich and autumn-spice kugel traveled well in boxes provided.

OK, so I am a native NYer who misses the food I grew up enjoying. Found this place and know I will be back. It is not a real kosher deli, but the pastrami on marble rye was authentic and delicious. I also discovered black and white cookies - ones I had given up on locating out here. The bagels... More

If you live in Chicago's western suburbs, any kosher style deli is hard to find. Good kosher style deli in this area is only available at this oasis in Naperville. We recently enjoyed their corned beef and chopped liver on New York style rye bread. Even the pickles tasted authentic. If your looking for a taste of the East Coast... More

It's a decent attempt to copy a Jewish Skokie or New York Deli but it falls far short. It is also dirty and staff are unfriendly. The hot dogs are better on the streets of New York. Corned beef dinner on St Patricks Day was quite good and reasonably priced.
