They are fast and efficient. Love their salads, breads, Maxwells, and chocolate cake and cake shakes. We eat here whenever we are in the area. The Maxwells have a lot of onions and are delicious. The cakes are made from scratch.

We love Portillos. This time we had limited time before catching our flight back to Alaska and we had to get our Italian Beef craving satisfied. We went through the Portillos drive thru -- what a pleasure! They could teach all of the fast food chains a thing or two about "fast food." They were unbelievably efficient at the height... More

It's just the best. I just don't know how else to describe it. The meat just melts in your mouth, the aus jus is just perfect, even the fries rock it out

I had the opportunity to dine at this restaurant with friends over the labor day weekend and was very impressed. The restaurant was well staffed despite healthy line of customers . the food was quickly ready and fresh and the ribs were delicious. The variety of both grilled food, hotdogs ,hamburgers, etc. combined with Italian choices is genius and at... More

I moved and lived in Naperville area for about 6 months, and one of the main things I always heard from people, aside from the "Go Bears!", was the Italian Beef at Portillo's. It wasn't until we drop up and saw a super long line that even the police had to manage to allow people to wait in line that... More

Best Italian beef sandwich I've ever had in the states! Crusty bread, flavorful meat and perfectly cooked peppers.

Portillos is by far the most overrated eatery chain in the Chicagoland area (30+ locations). There you will find hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, decor from the kitsch catalog of 1984, tin signs, fake old timey junk, etc. The menu and decor have not changed in 20 years. The enormous wait times (employees standing in the drive through lines taking orders)... More

The places that are special aren't so special when you live near them. That was me and Portillo's. I knew I could always go there and get a great Italian beef sandwich and milk shake along with good rings on the side. But it's been a long time since I lived near Portillo's so when visiting friends, I jumped at... More

Been a long while since visiting...too long. Love Portillo's. Great Chicago dog and milk shakes. The Italian Beef is out of this world. Long lines but worth the wait. And I must say, the bussers working the dining area are quite pleasant. Talkative, friendly and attentive to needs. Nice touch. Wish Portillo's was closer to home.
