I visited this restaurant on my birthday with some family members. I had heard it was good and it certainly lived up to its reputation. The décor is brilliant, with lots of fishing murals and a huge fish tank in one corner. Even the salad bar, which is wheeled over to your table is boat shaped, which made us laugh,... More

This place was such an unexpected treasure. We went for lunch, where prices were more than fare. Everything included: soup, salad and dessert. We sat in front of a boat perched on the sandy beach behind us. This place was beautiful there were murals everywhere.. everything was just so thought out. There was a gazebo outside with flowers everywhere when... More

Enjoyed a late lunch/early dinner. Very tasty. Customer service was outstanding. Worth effort to find and try. I will come Back.

Dover Straits is a very nice place. i highly recommend this restaurant. The Straits of Dover from which the name has been proudly adopted reflects the extensive selection of fine seafood. The channel, located between Europe and France has the most ideal temperatures for all types of fish.

Our dinner was just mediocre. We ordered our fish with the sauces on the side and were very grateful as the sauces were gooey and generally disgusting. The salad was good although rather small. We didn't have appetizers or desserts. Our server was attentive and friendly. On the week-ends, there is a live band and dancing in the lounge area.... More

When there after seeing "Cats" at the Marriot Lincolnshire on a Saturday and the place was packed. We didn't have a reservation, but were seated within 25 minutes. We started with the Escargots(very good). The salad is prepared at the table from items on Sophia the Salad Boat(fun). My Wife enjoyed the Lake Superior Whitefish with mixed vegetables(steamed carrots, broccoli,... More

We have been to this restaurant many times over the years and we have had several items on the menu. Over time, the food has gone from very good to just OK. However, last night, it just wasn't good at all. It was Easter and I think the chef had had a busy afternoon and perhaps gone home early. We... More

We have passed this restaurant multiple times, and have always wondered about what it's like, so we decided to have a meal. I ordered one of the chef's specials - Dover Sole - it was really bad - had an off taste. I sent that back, the waiter graciously offered to select something else. I figured - Salmon - Probably... We recently went to Dover Straits with our friends. We have been going for years and we know the food is good, and the owners are wonderful people. We had a nice meal, well prepared, with sizeable portions to satisfy. The service was pretty good overall but a bit slow at times, perhaps because it was a busy night. I... More

I went here with family for an early New Year's eve dinner and we were able to order off the regular menu, which was nice. I've visited a couple of times over a 10 year period and suspect the decor hasn't changed for 40 years, a sort of sea-side kitsch? The restaurant seems a popular place for the older set,... More
