Neighborhood "feel" with Great Pizza!

My husband, son, daughter-in-law and I met here for a wonderful lunch. My son had a friend's recommendation about Pequod's delicious pan pizza. We were not disappointed! This was my first experience with deep dish, which I don't prefer, so I can't say how good the food is. Local friends say it is the best though. The service was good. It is a very small, old building, and when it filled up it was very warm in there.

Good pizza but when talking about Pizza places in Chicago, Pequod's, in my opinion does not belong in the same conversation as Giordano's, Lou Malnatis, or Geno's. Everyone has different tastes but to me, the crust was very bready (if there is such a word). This might have been because our pie was very light on cheese and sauce. Worth... More

Had Pequods for the first time in about 20 years the other night at a family party and was not impressed. Definitely not as good as i remember many years ago. I enjoy pan pizza, but this seemed too doughy. The sauce was not as flavorful as i remembered, and there definitely was not enough sausage. It was ok overall,... More

After seeing a show rating Pequods I decided to visit. I've been before and loved the pizza but this time the cheese crust was only atop the pizza and not the whole crust as shown on TV. Oh well sometimes success takes a step backwards.

That's the carmelized crust on the deep dish pizza made in the traditional Chicago style at The Pequod. Keith the owner has a second location on Clybourn Ave. in Chicago that has the same funky décor and great pizza and salads. After a recent housecleaning most of the antique radios and speakers from the previous owner (Burt) are gone and... More

I've noticed this place has a couple bad reviews. and they are probably justified. As a business owner myself, I would like to note that no one is perfect, and everyone is going to have a bad day. I can say with certainty, that Peaquads pizza is delicious, the restaurant has a very home-like feel to it. The staff has... More

Yesterday I had an almost $700 order from Pequod's for a party I was throwing. Not only were they 25 minutes late, they forgot all the serving utensils and plates and napkins. When I called three times to speak to a manager because the food was not there and then they were missing the utensils, a manager refused to get... More

Setting the scene: Rainy night, two adults, one child. We tried this location as my boyfriend has ate at their other location in Chicago. At first, it seems quaint, home in suburbs turned into a pizza parlor nestled among regular homes in area, smelled great, was busy. Location houses about 80 customers or so, bar can only hold 4 people... More

Excellent pan pizza. Plenty of good tasting Italian sausage on a well made crust, good sauce and all in all a very good pan pizza.
