Smokey BBQ with great service.

We stopped here for lunch on a Sunday after shopping and had a really nice meal. We were seated immediately at a nice booth and met our server right away. I will say upfront the service was good. The young lady attended to us very well. Now to the food. We ordered the pulled pork sandwiches and sides. The sandwiches were served cold. The BBQ was somewhat tuff and tasteless I tried adding sauces to them. Did not help. Of the sides the baked beans were good and warm. We... More

The restaurant in Marion is in my opinion, not as good as the one in Murphysboro, Il. However, the restaurant in Marion offers the same food and seems to be much larger than the one in Murphysboro.

Our server was fantastic - provided just the right amount of attention, refilling drinks as needed. The pace when serving our appetizers and meals was good. The food was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits the Marion area.

The service was great. We arrived less than 10 minutes before they closed and both the hostess and server made us feel welcome! I ordered the chicken (all white meat) pulled sandwich, which was delicious. The BBQ is great, reasonable prices, friendly staff.

Given that this restaurant is owned by a nationally-known barbeque master, Mike Mills, this establishment leaves something to be desired, especially in service and atmosphere. When placing our drink orders, I asked the waitress if a dry white wine was available as beer is the preferred beverage here. The waitress flippantly replied that she didn't know; she wasn't a bartender.... More

This is always a stop for me when I return to Southern Illinois. My day is not complete without at least one meal a day at 17th Street Barbecue. Having grown up in this area I return to meet with family and friends; I always tell them, meet us at "17th Street Barbecue!" And check out their cookbook...it gives the... More

We arrived after a long day of travel and checking in to a local hotel. Since we had two young grandsons and it was a long day, we wanted a place where they could be a bit noisy yet we all would get good food. We were not disappointed. We were seated in a large room with two large parties,... More

I love good barbecue. I have eaten it at home in Detroit as well Kentucky, Tennessee, the Carolinas, Texas and now Marion, Ohio.. Tonight I had barbecue that was among the best if not the best I've had in years.
