Illinois was recently named one of "11 Top BBQ Cities in America" by Thrillist, thanks to 17th Street. Mike Mills and his crew are proud to support and shine a spotlight on Southern Illinois, sharing the gospel of barbecue and their delicious food both in Southern Illinois and nationwide. At 17th Street, barbecue is a culture, not a concept. The restaurant is a community gathering place where guests become family. Rooted in history and family, their delicious barbecue smoked using local apple wood and their famous Magic Dust(R). Owner Mike Mills has devoted his life to the pits and is considered by his peers a true pioneer, legend, and leading force in the barbecue world.

Great BBQ place convienient to Hotels.

We stay in Marion a few times each year and almost always eat one night here. Even though we are from Texas, we love their BBQ. Great atmosphere too!

I've never visited any dine in restaurant with as rude a server and management who wasn't empathetic to customers which are dissatisfied with the service and cold food. I think if I could deduct stars I would.

We have visited the 17th Street Bar & Grill for several years traveling from Minnesota to Florida. Love the place. However, this year, we looked at the Trip Advisor online menu and decided ahead of time what we should order. We decided on the 17th Street Sampler Platter. According to the online menu, we could choose from 4 appetizer selections.... More

Appreciate your kind words and thoughtful review. I am just now claiming ownership of this trip advisor page -- the previous information came from guests, not our management. This is my first visit to the page. So I have added the correct URL to the menu -- the one listed was at least five years old. I'm sorry you were... More

This is a barbecue place. Lots of choices if you like cooked or smoked meat. Ribs, pork shoulder, brisket ect. I heard someone talking about awards so maybe one of their locations competed in a cook off or something. I thought the food was good and a little better then a normal steakhouse. Prices were just a little higher as... More

We're not BBQ fanatics but this place was right next door to our hotel, so we opted to check it out. Boy am I glad we did. It was busy (Sat. night) with 3 parties waiting ahead of us. But the wait was just a few minutes. Shane was our knowledgeable, helpful server. I had a (well made) dirty martini... More

This was a repeat visit for us to this great BBQ place. My husband had ribs, collard greens and fries. I had a salad and the best soup I have ever had. It was a cheesy potato soup flavored with sausage. Now I HATE sausage and was a bit leery about trying it. However it had a wonderful flavor. It... More

My husband and i share the grand champion platter. Their brisket is some of the best I've had, and my husband is on a bbq team, so i get to eat lots of smoked meats. My favorites appetizer is the pimiento cheese and hot links. I also like that they always have a bottle of their dry rub on the... More

Awesome BBQ and great service from Ryan. Went with his suggestions and was not disappointed. Chicken with red beans and rice as a side was delicious. Highly recommend.

We don't usually experiment with BBQ because we believe nothing is as good as what you can get where you live. This was a pleasant surprise and experience. Our waiter was Tyler and he could not do enough for us when he found out this was our 1st visit to 17th Street. Mike the manager also came by to welcome... More

Large portions, samples to taste, very good service, nice staff and friendly patrons, within walking distance from Country Inn...just beyond the Speak-easy drive thru liquor store????
