We ate here after finding this restaurant in the 2015 Michelin Guide. The menu was interesting and offered some unusual choices along with some exciting surprises - including the chef's signature 'sandwich'. Staff were attentive and friendly, they were also very tolerant and understanding of our appalling French. The decor is as you would expect from a high end restaurant.... More

Wow! Inside, outside and particularly the food was wonderful. It was a cool Sunday August evening but we ate at the table with the view on the river. Our taste buds were dazzled. Wow! The lamb especially was just delicious. Thoroughly recommend for anyone who enjoys great food. After spending ten years visiting the region this is definitely one of... More

Really good place for lunch or dinner. Gorgeous setting inside and out, which in the summer is ideal, being right on the river. Variety of menus and good wine list. Somewhere we like to take friends to as well as just the two of us. Quite pricey. But v.g.experience. Reservation essential.

Had a nearly perfect meal here for lunch. This restaurant has is all, excellent service, amazing wine list, perfect setting, wonderful food with just a touch of whimsy. I thought, for the quality and service the €38 menu was a bargain. Wine mark-up was industry standard 3x wholesale. But with excellent varietals in the region at €6 euros if you... More

A meal here never disappoints, but over the past couple of years there has been something magical taking place in the kitchen, with all the signs of a chef really starting to get into his stride. If this restaurant hasn't been starred in the last Michelin guide it will surely be as all the markers are there. The quality of... More

What an absolute treasure this restaurant is for this region! We also were referred by the B&B at Domaine de Beausejour, and everything was splendid. It helped make this part of our journey to France our most memorable! Even the Amuse-Bouche was interesting and tasty, very unique, and our entrees were both diverse and well-prepared. I had a flash-fried sardine... More

This restaurant was recommended by a native of the region, the hostess of the excellent local B&B Domaine de Beausejour, just up the road at Panzoult and the visit was made with a couple of guests who I met at an impressive winetasting at the domaine. The location on an island in La Vienne is lovely and peaceful, though I barely... More

We always like to make a special occasion of family birthdays and celebrations by going out for a meal in a restaurant. We chose 'L'Auberge de l'Ile' for my husband's birthday because of its pleasant setting and its varied and impressive menu. The restaurant has the advantage of being on a small island in the river Vienne at Ile Bouchard.... More

Excellent restaurant for a solemn dinner. The setting, the tables, the cutlery, plates and glasses, the decoration, the service, it all goes by the simple word IMPECCABLE. A wine list with plenty of choice of also local wines, served at the right temperature. My wife did not wholly enjoy the Big Ko so proudly announced. Too close to a mac... More
