The Red Ox is a great place to eat while in Macomb. They have a varied menu and the prices are reasonable. From a good "Ugly Steak" to a casual meal you can't go wrong. One of the nicer places in Macomb. They also have private dining area for a special occasion like a rehearsal dinner, shower, etc.

There were two of us for lunch and both of our meals were very good. Location of the restaurant was good but the best part was the exceptional service that we had. Everyone in the restaurant was amazing, friendly and took great care of us. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

This place has some of the best steaks I've ever had.....went there at a recommendation with a group of people and I am sooo thankful .....ordered the Ugly Steak and it couldn't be more beautiful.... I would marry the chef for recipe....wish they would tell me how they make it but they won't - I hate them ! It was... More

My mom dad took my wife and I here for our 6th anniversary. My Dad has to eat glueten free, which isn't a problem normally. Well when we walked in the waitress was sitting in a booth on looking at her cell phone. She then seated us and have us a menu. This was around 3:00 PM, I mention this... More

With wood paneled walls and and glass mirrors behind the bar, my impression of the Red Ox is that it has been the local "special occasion" restaurant for decades. The menu includes a wide variety of entrees served with soup or salad, choice of potato and vegetable. I had shrimp which was OK, but not great and a small over-cooked... More

Ate here while we were visiting our old haunts. They have a good buffet on Sunday - lots of salad choices, soups, breads, several meats and desserts. Not the best food ever, but not bad.

The Red Ox has become a Macomb institution providing solid, great tasting, unpretentious food every day (but closed on Mondays). All entrees are prepared from scratch, as your mom might say. The salad, soup, bread, and dessert bar feature a wide variety of items beyond the menu.

I do not remember it looking like the picture so don't be surprised. Maybe I remember wrong. However, this was recommended for our business dinner while we were in Macomb. The prices were about $16-24 for a steak which is a little high given the setting but the food was really good and tasty. The service was very good and... More

We enjoyed a very good meal here on Valentine's Day. The restaurant was swamped yet we only waited around 30 minutes for a table. We were told upon calling that they didn't take reservations or add your name to the seating list until you arrive in person. The waitress was extraordinary with so many tables and customers to wait on.... More

I went a couple times in December 2013 for lunch and had the French Dip with all the fixings both times. I don't go here often enough to try new things, but the French Dip is great! This restaurant has been in Macomb for ages, and is popular with the "townies." It has a salad bar. It has a bar.... More
