Cloth table cloths, sculpted napkins and great service. This restaurant does not look as fancy on the outside, but is very nice inside. I found this little treasure on trip advisor when we were traveling on 55 coming from the St Louis area. It was dark and we did not know the area so I "asked" trip advisor for a... More

Every July I travel from Florida to Iowa, and this stop is my favorite along the way. I stumbled upon it years ago, and am so happy I did. First off, take exit 52 in Illinois and then head east. Every visit I notice the owner is on hand, which clearly has an impact on the excellent service. On my... More

Staying in Litchfield whilst driving route 66 we went to the Ariston Cafe for dinner. Excellent food and great service. Really welcoming and friendly service. Would highly recommend a visit.

We were recommended this from a Route 66 travel guide and it was full of atmosphere and very friendly staff. We had initially visited just for coffee but ended up having the most amazing apple pie ever.Great place for photographs and for following family values and traditions.

We stayed in Litchfield and wanted to eat at Aristons cafe. We went at 7:00 because we thought it might be busy earlier . We got a table right away even though the restaurant was busy. I ordered an IPA and a drink for Cheryl , now we were in business. After a short while we ordered our meals I... More

Litchfield is a great spot to stop for a meal while traveling from Chicago to St. Louis. This is a quaint restaurant with white table cloths. We enjoyed the salad bar and loved the mushroom topped steak. Can't wait to go there again!

My wife & I flew in to the Litchfield airport for the sole purpose of visiting the Ariston Café...and we're glad we did! After a .8 mile walk from the airport, we were amazed at the number of things to choose from on the menu - including Portabello mushroom fries. Check out the online menu at their website: www.ariston-cafe.com to... More

Upon entering one is struck by the 1950s, Route 66 décor. The scene is set by a counter to the right, a Marlin on the far wall and booths with period lighting on the left. In my only prior visit I was in a more formal dining room but tonight I decided to go for the quaint charm. The food... More

5 stars for food, service and value. Do not miss the toasted ravioli - they are superb here. However, if you do one thing, it's this - SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! The homemade desserts are amazing. Our group shared strawberry shortcake and cherry cheesecake. Absolutely scrumptious. You won't go wrong here!

We stumbled in here very hungry on our route 66 trip. This place was recommended in our guide books and since it was across from the route 66 museum we said why not? It was a Sunday so we chose the all you can eat brunch. It was ok... kind of poor quality food at a high price! It was... More
