Seafood in the burbs

Here's the deal...Chinns has a name of great fresh seafood period. The service is spotty, not awful my not fantastic. It is pricey considering you eat on plastic dishes and cups. The food is always good but lately the prices are insane. They need to vamp up service and atmosphere or lowest prices... read more

My son and I went by ourselves. Place was packed. Waitress was great, super fast with everything. You didn't even have to ask for refills because she had them refilled already. Food was ok. Mashed potatoes had no flavor. My stuffed shrimp was ok nothing to write home about. My son had some lobster bisque he said that was delicious.... More

This West suburban gem is a wonderful find. The seafood is flown in fresh from HI, AK, ME, FL and other points daily. We had Florida stone crab claws as an appetizer, very tasty. My wife had the crab bisque and sauteed scallops. I had the cajun seafood gumbo and steamed spicy shrimp. Everything was fantastic. Do not miss the... More

I have been to Chinn's a number of times. My favorite appetizer is the Crab "n" Artichoke Fondue. Also very taste is the mini crab cakes. The garlic buns they serve you are dipped in butter and has actual tiny garlic pieces on it-yummy! If you don't prefer that then ask for them to just give you plan buns. Almost... More

While Chinn's doesn't have the best atmosphere and is dated, they do offer great service and their seafood selections are very good.

So we have heard about this place for a long time and decided to give it a try. It's busy, they do a great business. We found the service a little lacking. Slow for getting waited on, slow to get refills, etc. The food, we had calimari and King crabs, was ok. My wife liked her crab legs, my first... More

You could sit here and eat the garlic buns that they serve when you sit down. I ordered the Seafood Italiano in a garlic broth. Delicious! Huge scallops, mussels, clams, shrimp all boiled in a garlic broth and served with Angel Hair pasta.

Foods are excellent, especially lobsters. I love garlic breads that comes with. They have also grapefruit beer which is wonderful. Everything was great except price. Expensive restaurant but not quite compare to other sea food restaurants.

We have been going to Chinns for more than 15 years. It is a well run restaurant with a solid menu of seafood items. We typically order Monchong or Halibut char grilled. Absolutely delicious. Comes with very good white rice and vegetables. Last night I had the shrimp vermicelli which consisted of lots of shrimp tossed with the clear glass... More

We dined at Lisle Chinn's several times a year for the past 15 years. It is by far the freshest seafood joint in southwest DuPage County. Fish and crabs flown from Alaska to ORD on weekly basis. When the large or jumbo dungeness crabs are available, it is quite a feast. We order it with garlic style, or scallion and... More
