My local favorite

Just two blocks from my home. L Woods offered an American menu in a lodge like setting. ribs are the best. Sima's chicken is my current go to meal, perfection bathed a lemon sauce. We came here after a bad service experience at another restaurant. The staff at L. Woods completely turned our night around! Everyone was friendly and professional and we felt like we were regulars at a neighborhood place. A great experience and we will surely be back! The food was also good, we enjoyed everything we ordered. But mostly we just... More

Call ahead for reservation! This place is constantly full for dinner and the line of waiting patrons are long. The almond crusted Walleye Pike sandwich or dinner are to die for! A must go to when in the area

I think the atmosphere here is better than the food. Their burgers are very good, fish is ok, but they're know for their barbeque. Pulled pork, brisket, ribs--all pretty good. Don't order what they're not famous for. Not a culinary experience for sure, but not at all bad for comfort food. I go once a year.

Preface: I am a New Yorker. I like things like flavor. I'm OK with eating fatty comfort food, but it shouldn't taste like licking the waste trap of a Foreman grill. Food: I had a steak sandwich. QUICK! PICTURE A STEAK SANDWICH IN YOUR MIND. Got it? Good. You most likely pictured some sort of sub roll with sliced steak,... More

If I have to choose between good food or good service, I would definitely choose the good food. Good thing as the service here leaves much to be desired. Moving on- the cedar plank salmon was perfectly cooked and had amazing flavor. Skip the deviled eggs. Spend the $7 on a Moscow Mule.

As you would expect from a Lettuce restaurant, the food was very good and the service was excellent. The ribs are great.

We are not from the area, but so glad we chose this place to stop on a cold February night. The atmosphere and food are both comfort oriented. Our waitress was wonderful and brought us a special plate of flatbread hors doeuvres just because it was our first visit. They clearly have a lot of fans as the parking lot... More

Our first impression of this restaurant was, where are we going to park? Inside, restaurant was buzzing with people. Yester year supper club sort of look, dim lighting, thick red booths. We had reservations and were seated immediately in a booth that more than comfortably seated our group. We had a very attentive, professional waiter. Menus, drinks,, appetizers and entrees... More

We've been dining at L. Woods since dinosaurs roamed the earth and the place was called "Bones." Although the kitchen continues to crank out excellent supper club-style fare, the service seems to be slipping - great one time, confused/disorganized the next. At our recent dinner, the kitchen had run out of nearly all of the fresh fish entrees by 7... More
