Absolutely the best. Big. Leaves no craving unmet. Plenty of other delectable choices as well. Get a nice coffee to go with that.

They use almond paste. That and a cup of coffee before a hike is a ritual. I love that place more than yo u can comment.

This bakery puts out fine treats each and every time I've visited. I've special ordered cakes from them, and they have been decorated very nicely. Always a big hit wherever I take the cakes. The banana is my favorite. As far as doughnuts, the red velvet is simply amazing. Even though this place can be very busy, service is always... More

I was introduced to this bakery by my husband, it is owned by the same family as the bakery from his childhood. In Chicago a bakery was almost a sacred thing, like part of your family history. A place to go on Sunday morning after Church for coffee cake, sweet rolls and bread for sandwiches. We visit here on a... More

First of all, let me say "thank you" to the entire staff at Calumet Bakery and restaurant. Why? Because, they deserve to be recognized for the "outstanding" bake goods they churn out everyday! Most important, "Calumet Bakery" hasn't compromised their recipes with "artificial" ingredients, neither abandoned the community where they offered their first tasty morsel since 1935. Bravo! For that... More

My family has ordered cakes, coffeecakes and pastries from this bakery for years. If you are looking for something special, make this your next stop in the Southeast suburbs of Chicago.

This is a very small and quaint bakery. The goods are always fresh. You cant go wrong whatever your choice. I love the atomic cake and the carrot cake is one of my favorites. You wont be sorry or regret your decision to have a sweet treat from this bakery. The staff are very accommodating!!

More and more it's hard to find a good bakery but Calumet Bakery fills the niche when you're looking for all things baked - donuts, sweet rolls, Danish, pies, coffee cakes, etc. They have a limited amount of indoor seating so it can be a great place to meet a friend for a cup of coffee and something sweet.

Everything is always great, except the last time we ordered a cake, we got calls the day before the order was for, telling us we had an hour to pick up our cake before they closed. When we told them the cake was ordered for the next day, the woman on the phone said they had it ready then and... More
