Great fish and a relaxing environment where you can have a conversation without shouting

This is a small and lovely place overlooking Market Square in Lake Forest. The menu is small but well-thought out. Everything we tried was marvelous. Perfectly plated and prepared with wonderful flavors. Can't Wait to go back

We started out with a variety of the freshest oysters in the area. They were very very good. Even ordered more. They allow the mix and match of oysters from various regions....nice touch. We also shared the crab cake as an appetizer. It was great. My husband had the lobster risotto. They dont skimp on the lobster and it really... More

My husband and I both ordered the scallops. We were concerned when we saw how large they were when our server brought them to the table. Bigger is not always better when it comes to scallops. They had a spongy consistency as is often the case with "wet scallops". If you have ever had a "dry" scallop, you know that... More

Went to dinner there with my wife last night (a Friday). Charming place with a special feeling, clean, second floor location, and some tables have a view . Fine menu, truly gourmet quality preparation, and attentive and excellent service. The chef sent over a little specialty raste treat. Wonderful shrimp appetizer, and a rich lobster bisque. Wife had a good... More

In all ways this restaurant has not recovered from its loss: the executive chef & creator of menu. Go to pm prime instead.

I have a US Coast Guard Capt.'s license and fish/dive in the Caribbean nearly every month.I know what fresh fish taste like and MH Fish House has a great selection of fresh seafood served in a tastefully appointed dining area. Even in the dead of winter, the glass enclosed patio is a great place to enjoy fresh oysters, crabs, scallops... More

On the good side, the restaurant was nicely decorated and the staff was very welcoming. The menu was a touch confusing and required explaining by the wait staff. The food and the presentation was outstanding. Well cooked with excellent flavor. The wait staff was very attentive and not overbearing. The problem was the pricing. Two of the three of us... More

We have had many wonderful evenings at the Fish house but last night was not one of them and a huge cullinary disappointment. Waitstaff was very attentive however "not good" food served well is still "not good" food. Clam chowder was tasteless and not even warm. Rissoto was sticky with hardly any lobster in it. The lobster thermidor was dry... More
