My girlfriend and I had been to Barolo a few times. This past weekend we celebrated a friend's birthday there. The meal was very good; I had a lamb shank special that melted in my mouth, and the ladies each had a fish entree. The fish was fresh. The atmosphere is classy-cozy, but dress is casual. I have to say... More

For being in a strip mall you would never expect what you get when you open the door. The food and service is always very good and the interior makes you forget where you are at. Definitely a very good place for that special meal.

For all you young folks, who tend to snicker at us old folks who eat at 4:30, let me tell you what I found. It's a small Italian restaurant which has a very cozy atmosphere primarily due to its soft luminescent and Frank Sinatra playing melodiously in the background. It has a little bar off to the side which is... More

Three of us attended Barolo for the first time last week, and we all had a terrific time. Not only was the food simply delicious, but the service was fantastic. Donna was friendly, cheerful, courteous, altogether the ideal hostess/server. She knew the menu perfectly, was helpful and not the least bit overbearing. It was as if she anticipated our every... As usual, the food was great, and the service of the highest caliber. My request to have something other than pasta (I'm trying the little or no-wheat diet) with my veal parmigiana was met with a surprise helping of steamed asparagus, which I love! My wife loved the pasta special as well. Our server was Donna, whom we request whenever... More

Barolo is a local Italian restaurant we've dined at several times with exceptional experiences. I suggested a family dinner there after leaving a wake at a funeral home in Joliet. We called to see if we could be seated for dinner with a group of 15, and we were told it was no problem. Two servers were assigned to our... More

On a recent road trip we stopped into Barolo's for dinner and were quite pleasantly surprised. Our server was most helpful in guiding our selections throughout the meal. We enjoyed the Maryland Blue Crab Cakes as an appetizer. The mango sauce was unexpected, for me, to find in an Italian restaurant, but delicious nonetheless. I would have enjoyed these more,... The decor was absolutely beautiful. As soon as we walked in we were warmly greeted and the good service never came to an end. We had caesar salads, two color linguine with scallops and slipper lobster tails, ad the veal with scalloped potatoes asparagus and broccoli. The flavors were amazing. Nothing was over cooked and the sauces were perfection. My... More

I came to the US from Italy as an exchange student and I've had dinner at this restaurant several times in 2013/14. I've tried all kinds of fake-Italian dishes while in America and I liked them a lot, but when I went to Barolo's I was happy to have real Italian food! It's a really nice place with a cozy... More

Our friends took us to dinner at this place - and we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is a bit dark, but welcoming. Sharp afternoon sun streamed in - the waiter was very accommodating rearranging the drapes for us. Rack of lamb - very good and nicely presented. Stuffed pork chops, tender and flavorful. 2 vegetable accompaniments were a bit... More
