Rick Thayer recently bowed out of Thayers 158 North, selling the establishment to his chef, Brent Nardi. The restaurant has been renamed Nardi's on Chicago and is open for lunch and dinner. Menu leans toward Italian cuisine but other selections are available.

Just got my credit card statement and Thayers doubled the tip we put on the bill when we visited in April. We tipped over 15% as the service wasnt the best but then they went ahead and doubled it?? Only knock was a fowl smell that came on for a short time, think was from cleaning... More

It was 7:30 show so we went at 5 and able to enjoy leisurely dinner including dessert and coffee. Many turned away as full although upstairs and downstairs seating. We were seated at... More

Thayer's 158 North is well worth the trip to downtown Joliet. Don't waste your time or money at any other establishments down there as I have. Simply put, everything they serve is great.

Ate at the restaurant with two other coworkers. Calamari was prepared deep fried and grilled. Both were good with the right amount of spice and the sauces were made to dip the excellent bread that was served with it. The beef vegetable soup was way overseasoned. The filet was chewey. Scallops also suffered from the same overseasoning problem. Green beans... More
